Did you love it or did you hate it? Well heres your chance to vote. Also what was your reaction when you learn it was a one off and not the return you had been hoping for.

It was OK.
It didn't feel much like Doctor Who, though.
The Master was very un-Master-like, and the film felt more like Highlander than Who.
However, there was more than just a passing nod to continuity and I think they deserved top marks for featuring Sylvester McCoy.

All right, all you haters, I'll tell you right now, the reason I got back into Doctor Who after a decade or so out of it was because of the movie. Within a year I had all the Target books, all the New Adventures, most of the DWM, and tracked down every episode. And it's all because the movie ROCKED. So THERE.

Too d**n Americanised for a start. It relied more on special effect with no plot but lots of plot holes and inconsistancies, when the classic series was the opposite. I mean alright the special effects were poor then perhaps but they were easily put up with because a lot of the time the writting was great.
I`m sure it was written by someone who`d never even heard of Doctor who let alone watch it

That should probably "Canada-ised", since that was where it was made. As far as plot holes & inconsistancies are concerned, please refer to almost any Doctor Who ep. with the name John Nathan Turner on it. As for the 'FOX TV movie', I had problems with it, but after reading the gymnastics involved in actually getting it to the screen, I was amazed it was as good as it was. An 8th Dr series would have been interesting, but its probably for the best that it didn't happened--seeing how it would have re-made old stories, & re-working old villians (the Cybs). Still, the possibility exists that the 8th Dr will show up in an upcoming story. McGann's audio stories show that he has the 'gravitas' to be on equal footing (if not more) with previous & successive Doctors.

Effects and TARDIS interior were very good. Paul McGann is charismatic. He should have been given a series...handled entirely by the BBC. His Big Finish audios are very cool. Eric Roberts was horrible and nearly everyone else was tolerable at best. I have yet to make it all the way thru the entire feature. I keep trying but IT is trying....my patience...my nerves...etc.

I just this evening tried to watch it again, and simply couldn't make it past the thirty-minute mark. The rest should be better though, as after the point where I gave up McGann (finally!) gets properly Doctorish, and the one good aspect of the TVM is in place.

It would have been immensely improved had they just cast someone else (anyone else!) as the Master.

Paul McGann and Eric Robert were the two good things in the tv movie. People keep saying Roberts portrayl of the master was camp, though I can`t see how myself.

Paul McGann's doctor was pretty much the saving grace of the entire thing.
P.S. No pun intended.
