From DoctorWhoNews.com: The Chicago Tribune is reporting on the writing team for Torchwood season 4 as selected by series creator, Executive Producer and lead writer Russell T Davies –
John Shiban – His past work has included Star Trek: Enterprise, The X-Files and its spin-off The Lone Gunmen, Smallville, Legend of the Seeker & Supernatural. With his past work on Enterprise means that he has joined a group of writers to have written for both the Doctor Who and Star Trek universes.
His past work on The X-Files is quite fitting since Torchwood had been described as a British X-Files.
Doris Egan – Her past work has included Smallville, Dark Angel, Tru Calling & House.
Jane Espenson – Well known to fans of Joss Whedon as she has worked on the Whedonverse shows Buffy, Angel, Firefly & Dollhouse. Of these shows Angel bears the closest comparison to Torchwood.
Her other work has included the reimagined version of Battlestar Galactica and is the showrunner for its spin-off Caprica.
She is also the co-creator of Warehouse 13, another show that is similar to Torchwood.
John Fay – He is the only one of the writers announced to have written for Torchwood before as he wrote for the previous season with Days 2 and 4 of Children of Earth. His other work has included the 2006-09 BBC series of Robin Hood.
