So it begins, the slow crawl towards series 34...
What monsters and scenarios are we likely to come accross in 2008?
To start us off:
What will be the re-occuring word for series 34? Have we already heard it in series 33? Or will we have to wait until the Christmas special...?
Are we likely to have another Dalek episode(s) in series 34? Given that Dalek Caan uses the temporal shift in series 33, I think it is reasonable to assume the single dalek will have an episode. The Question is, will it be a single episode, or a double episode? I hope it will only be a single episode and I also hope that it will be the episode written by Gareth Roberts. There is also the possibility that it will be held off until series 35 (though I think this unlikely). Also when in history could it be???
As it has been mentioned elsewhere in the forum, the Eternals have been frequently mentioned through the new series, is it likely for them to make an appearence some time soon? Or will they be the feature of the Christmas special?
Who will be the central monster / alien / villian of the series? After the Daleks, Cybermen and the Master who is next?
Please join with me and discuss what you want in the series and what we can logically expect...!
;D

Well, at the end of 'Last of the Time Lords', we saw the Master's ring being lifted out of his ashes, so I think we might be seeing him again, albeit in a different body. Also, if the cybermen do reappear, I hope it's not going to be in that "clunk-clunk" form that we saw the season before last. Now, as for other classic series creatures, WHO (pun intended) knows?

I'd like to see the Great Intelligence return, that thing has some unfinnished business with The Doctor. If a book or audio hasn't already sorted it.

Well the daleks will come back, a new monster(s) will be created ,I would love the silurains to return, an episode(s) that won't be set on Earth, i agree with the thinker that the cybermen should return but not in the new "clunk-clunk" and i'd like to see an evil computer controlling a spaceship with the doctor inside like the film 2001: a space odyssey.

Personally, I think it'd be nice if this time there isn't some sort of link-word or overall link. You know, go back to the show's roots and this time just have a collection of independent stories. It'd be a nice change I think.

Well, what I mean by independent there is absolutely no common link of sorts. Also, I'd quite like to have a series finale that isn't anything grand and spectacular like the last three were, just the "last story of this particular bunch" or such.

I agree with that. Don't save the budget for a glorious finale but spread it evenly across the whole series.

Well, I wasn't speaking about the budget here, I'd just like it if they didn't have a "build up" storywise for once (new series).

This post contains RUMOURS and possible SPOILERSSo getting back to what we can possibly assume will be in series 34... Voyage of the Damned - It will supposidly feature this guy - www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001320029-2007330335,00.html (just copy and paste to see the news item) any further ideas about this episode? [Ed: Link is now lost] As Tate will be the consistant companion, it is safe to assume she will be picked up from modern earth in episode 1. Episode 1 - modern earth featuring some catastrophy. Episode 2 - future (5 billion era) whilst RTD has stated that New Earth is no longer likely to be a feature, there is still an intention to have a future episode somewhere futuristic. Episode 3 - Ye old england. Will this be an Elizabeth I episode which explains the end of The Shakespeare Code? Personally I doubt it, but either way it is getting a bit repetitive with the only famous people being visited are either royalty or playwrites ie. Shakey and Dickens It has been confirmed that an episode will be called Planet of the Ood I think there will be ONE Dalek episode, rumours suggest it will include Davros, but it most definately will have Dalek Caan in it. Julie Gardner has suggested that the master may return - "It would be rude not to, and he’s a great character. John Simm is amazing and I would go to work every day with him. His scenes were so much fun to do," she says. If this is so, then I personally would expect it to be a 2-parter... and it better have John Simm in it! There will be the finale 2-parter with the monster which has been brought back from Classic Who (I personally hope it's the Ice Warriors), and they are likely to get at least a third episode out of them. If Martha is indeed back for the last 5 episodes of the series, then episode 9 will surely have to be a modern earth setting. (Similar to School Reunion or Lazarus experiment) So by my count, including the Christmas special, that is about 12 out of the 14 episodes accounted for. Lastly, I have a feeling that Tate is not likely to stick around for more than one season, Martha will have been there for a season and a half, so is she likely to go for good as well? I know this is getting way ahead of myself, but I hope we are not introduced to yet another companion in series 35 without a previous companion still in the TARDIS. Anyways that is just my random waffling, I would love to hear your opinion as this forum seems to be collecting a lot of tumbleweeds of inactivity.

HA! It appears I was right about the 'Ye Old England' episodes only featuring 'playwrites' or royalty, as it has been confirmed on the BBC Doc Who website that... Agatha Christie will feature in an episode.

I found a website that gives a preview of Season 34. Take a look if you don't mind spoilers. If these descriptions are correct, we're in for a fantastic season!

Because? What you want is more, newer and better adversaries. The thought that old companions, Doctors and enemies are being referred to/brought back fills me with delight but I bet you're expecting it to fail. Have faith in RTD, he knows what he's doing.
