When I heard in 'End of the World' that the Time Lords are dead I wasn't too sure whether to believe it or not. After a while I got my marbles back together and accepted the truth, but I still don't like it. Surely the Doctor can't be the last Time Lord alive? What about the Master?
I personally want to see the Time Lords brought back to Doctor Who, anyone agree with me here?
I mean if the Daleks survived as seen in 'Dalek' and later on in 'Bad Wolf' there's got to be some shred of hope. Did Susan survive I wonder?

When the Doctor said he'd know if any other member of his race survived I became a little bit confused. Surely Susan would've survived? I'm saying that because she was left on Earth at the end of 'The Dalek Invasion of Earth' and so shouldn't of got caught up in all the carnage that we know as "The Time War". I'm curious as to what everyone else's opinion on this matter is.

I was wondering about this and I came to the conclusion that perhaps when the Time War started, all Time Lords not on Gallifrey would have been taken out of time and brought back home to help fight, with renegades being brainwashed or forced into helping (using devices such as the handcuffs Jack gives the doctor in 'Boom Town')

I'd like to see the Time Lords return as well. Their presence behind things can add some interesting stories (as shown in the past).
I agree that Susan should still be about though, but who knows what the first Doctor and her did after The Five Doctors?

When I found out that the Time Lords were dead I was a little irritated about that and didn't really like that concept. However after a while I got used to it and didn't let that get in the way of my viewing pleasure even though it still lingers in the back of my mind.

I always felt the Time Lords were a very big part of Doctor Who. It also seems strange that the name Gallifrey has never been mentioned in the new series. Is it possible that all the Time Lords returned to Gallifrey for the Time War and thus all were destroyed?

With reference to Susan, she did end up reunited with the first Doctor in The Five Doctors, we don't know her ultimate fate.
I have a strange inkling that the survival or destruction of the Time Lords may be the big secret that the Face of Bo has to share at some point.

It would be nice if the secret the Face of Boe had to share was the survival of the Time Lords, but if it isn't I'd like to see them come back another way, e.g. trapped in E-Space at the end of the Time War perhaps?

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD:According to some rumours the Face of Boe's secret is indeed about the Time Lords; it is rumoured to be "You are not alone", which is similar to a short story about the Doctor in the 2006 annual, which reveals that on an abandoned alien landscape there are pictures of a mighty battle with one lone survivor and underneath his picture is the message "you are not alone". So it's possible the Face of Boe wrote it there (despite the fact he doesn't appear to have any hands )

I think if the writers did bring back the time lords, how would they react to the doctor. lets face it, he killed them all.

Perhaps the Time Lords didn't die? Perhaps, knowing their fate, they slipped into another universe or reality and co-habited there? Just a theory that I think is worth considering.

Sounds like you are trying to think of an excuse to tell yourself they are not dead. I will only accept that the Time Lords are dead if the Doctor can give a resonable answer as to why they can't just go back in time to before the destruction of Gallifrey.

It would make it a lot more interesting if they weren't dead.
