The way Eccleston left the show and the comments he made leads me to believe he won't be doing any Big Finish audios unless he gets hungry. I remember reading in an interview (DWM I think) that he said he was quite keen on the idea of the audio dramas, saying the idea of going in and performing ... and all the while he could be unshaven, and just dress in his regular clothes appealed to him LOL! Unfortunately, unless the BBC loosens the ban on BF's contact with the new series, we might not hear it soon. That doesn't mean that Eccleston couldn't appear in another role, though .... how about him facing off as a baddie against McGann's Doctor!

I would like to see it in the show. We may never get to know it. The way Eccleston left the show and the comments he made leads me to believe he won't be doing any Big Finish audios unless he gets hungry. I certainly hope he changes his mind or has made an agreement to come back for a multi-doctor episode. It is interesting to note that in the final book it makes mention that the 8th doctor regenerates multiple times (three), at least how I read it three different personalities. If all else fails have an episode with McGann regenerating into someone other Eccleston and then have new person run around for a show, then the next show(s) have that person regenerate into Tennant. I'm not so interested in actually "seeing" the regen of #8 into #9. It's now so far in the past now in comparison to the current series. #10's comment to Rose after the regeneration about the basement of Henrik's being, 'oh so long ago'... more or less closes the chapter on Chris' incarnation. Chris himself sort of made some closure with his offhanded 'could've been worse' comment to his reflection in 'Rose.' 'The Gallifrey Chronicles' was the last official #8 novel... so, agreed, unless they do a final Time War series of audios... the whole regen sequence is probably a moot point. Let's let sleeping Timelords lie and get on with new adventures.

No. The BF group only has access to the "universe" of the classic series and TV movie. Gary Russell's said they're not allowed to use any concepts or references to the new series at all... even as far as not using the New Logo on their covers!
Well, that's what they've got access to now, but there's nothing preventing them from renegotiating and getting the rights to do the Time War story.

"Arrest the scarf then." Best quote ever.

"Arrest the scarf then." Best quote ever. Well, it is a highly quotable show.

I'm reading The Gallifrey Chronicles at the moment and I heard it had the Eighth Doctor regenerating in it. I'm well disappointed now. P.S. 8th Doctor to regenerate in an audio please

I personally think it would be better if they showed the eighth Doctor regenerating on TV. ;D
I think it would be cool if they brought back Paul Mgann as an elderly eighth Doctor and shows the climatic battle with restored time lords fighting the Daleks and whatever the Eighth Doctor did to wipe out the Daleks and Time Lords triggers his regeneration.
And also if they were to do this they could link up the Novels, Audio and comic strip so there will be no more cannon hell!!!
And it would be nice to see what happened to Fitz and Trix and have the Sam issue resolved (she'd be alive naturally- the grave stone belongs to her dark counter part)

My theory? The Time War. Simple as that!

I've had my own ideas about this, I wrote them up as a short piece of fan fic called 'Forgotten Memories', which you can see in the fan fiction section of the forum. I've also often wondered what would happen if the events of the Doctor's eighth regeneration were revealled in an off-hand line in one of the episodes, perhaps while he reeled off reasons he's regenerated before he could slip it in. Doubt it'll be a popular idea I know but still I'm allowed to dream

I would be all for a regeneration on an audio drama. Provided it has Eccleston for the last 5 minutes or so.
But what is the likelyhood that we as the fans are ever going to be treated to the answer?

This is in response to icewarrior's previous message (I still can't get the hang on inserting quotes!) <Update: Since orginally posting this the opposite is true>:
Ahem, Practically 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000... (a million more zeros here)... 00000000000000001% I should think. Though if they did have an all revealing line that would be good. Hmm I wonder?

i was hopin that the 8th Doc would regenerate in "The Gallifrey Chronicles". Same here. I was hoping that they would at least tie it all in together some how, but no. An episode (as someone said, perhaps a future Christmas Special) where we learn the hows and whys of the Time War would be excellent.

Perhaps a Time War film would be a idea.

Perhaps a Time War film would be a idea. Now, that would be tops!

Perhaps a Time War film would be a idea. Now, that would be tops! Only if it was scripted and directed properly that is. If it isn't you'd probably end up thinking differently.
