From Russia with Drugs: Season 7, Episode 7. Nice play in name to From Russia With Love. Not bad case about the said drugs but the enthralling part was with the explosion whilst Sherlock was talking to a spy in a nearby cafe. Good subplot about the apparent midconduct with the police captain who filled in for Gregson during his incapacitation.

Miss Understood: Season 7, Episode 8. Sequel to the equally aptly named Miss Taken as this sees the return of Cassie. Enjoyable episode as this investigates who killed one of Cassie’s childhood foster mothers. Heartwarming at the end when Sherlock help Cassie pick a new name.

Unfriended:
Antepenultimate episode.
Holmes and Watson gets Morland’s help against Reichenbach.
Meanwhile Reichenbach is being ousted from his own company making him more dangerous.
Sad end with news that Morland is dead.
This was directed by Lucy Liu and so in a way Morland was killed off by Watson!

Elementary ran for seven seasons between September 27 2012 and August 15 2019 and created by Robert Doherty who seems to have largely retired since the end of Elementary. Elementary is a Sherlock Holmes series being set in modern times and its premise is not unlike that of BBC’s Sherlock (2010-17). For this version of Sherlock Holmes, Elementary starred Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and presents a female Watson with Lucy Liu as Dr Joan Watson. This Sherlock Holmes is presented a procedural drama as it sees Holmes, a recovering drug addict, who has been relocated to Manhattan where he has been given a non-romantic companion in Joan Watson to make sure he does not fall off the wagon. Both Sherlock and Joan become consultants to the NYPD as they assist them in their cases. It is only because of the Sherlock Holmes bent to it that I saw this procedural drama in Elementary as a regular viewer. I mean I don’t watch something like the Law and Order shows as a regular viewer and Elementary is a very enjoyable procedural series to watch. Elementary presents very well on its given premise with Miller and Liu excellent as Holmes and Watson. A particular highlight during Elementary’s run was with it revealing that its own Irene Adler and Moriarty are one and the same person. The Irene Adler here and Moriarty, a female one at that named Jamie Moriarty was played superbly by Natalie Dormer and Moriarty would play a part in the series finale Their Last Bow.
