I would go through the list with you, but it's roughly 13,000 posts long. And that's with the smallest print available. But if you like him it's not illegal and I respect that (others may beg to differ though but we'll ignore them!).

I don't mind him. He's not the best companion the Doctor ever had but I can't see any reason why he should be disliked.

I think he suffered somewhat as being a third wheel to begin with; when you had him, the Doctor and Romana it was three supposed geniuses and that didn't really work.

Later on he was up against Tegan who, although many found her annoying, did have a more interesting characterisation as she didn't really want to be a traveler in the first place. There was also Nyssa, again another supposed genius who to be honest worked a lot better as a character, she just seemed more likable because I do think Adric could be a little whiny sometimes and not terribly interesting to watch.

Saying that I think perhaps with better writing for the character he could have done better, perhaps a bit more development to see him progress from the rather annoying brain box he was to maybe someone a bit more interesting, more like his brother Varsh only with a bit more brains.

So on the whole I think his character had potential but never really gained it, he could have been more predominant and interesting but never got the chance. In one way it was nice to see him go as it meant the stories weren't so crowded with a rather large lead cast and the act of him dying in itself is a good plot line, but maybe if he'd stayed we could have seen some more interesting characterisation.

I totally agree with this statement. I think the out-right hatred of Adric is a bit odd, especially because I thought Turlough was a worse character.

Turlough was a tad more whiny IMO than Adric, but he wasn't a bad character either.

I think they should've had a Doctor Who story where Adric meets the Daleks.

Ahhh Adric! Potentially, a great idea for a companion. In reality, ruined by a truely amateurish performance, poor scripts, and overcrowding in the TARDIS.

As for his "haters" being jealous of his pulling Tegan & Nyssa... Well, I think we can safely assume he died his fiery death still a virgin! ;D

I had no real problem with Adric. He wasn't the best, but he certainly wasn't the worst.

At least Adric was smart, Tegan could only talk nonsense, talk rubbish, whine and so on...
