The young people were put on the show IMO to help the audience relate better to the show. It was a new series and there was no sign the show would last 5 years. We have to try and put this in retrospective.

Originally it was a show for kids so it seems just logical that they put young people in it to help the audience relate better.

Looking at past episodes I think it was aimed at a whole age range. Some of it's a bit complicated and long-plotted for kids.

I'm not talking about pre-school little children, rather about teenagers and they're smart so if you try to give them dull programs they'll reject them, instead if you give them adventures with complicated plots that respect their intelligence you'll create a world-wide success that can grow up with the kids.

A lot of these kids grew up to be adults who continued to watch the show and buy dvds after the show ended. They may not have done this if the show didnt appeal to them, whether or not it had teenagers on the show. ;D

I gave him 8/10 because he was the original and I like some of his stories
