This is the story that helped make Doctor Who as popular as it is now. It deserves a certain deal of credit at least. Say 3 to 4 Stars?

3 / 5 for me, although it is a classic and it launched the popularity of Doctor Who sky high I think it went on for an episode or two too long. It just lags a bit here and there and to be honest it's a bit difficult to get through all in one sitting.
Still good though

As you say, its what made Dr Who what it is. Its fairly long but worth the watch.
4/5.

Despite the fact that originally the show was intended for kids there is a complex plot and we see good acting. Yes, the rythm is slow so the story is long but that seems the style in the 60s, there's also the tendency for the women to scream often but at that time women were supposed to scream so eventually I gave the story 5 stars because it's a milestone that introduced the Daleks with a lot of good features.

For some reason I don't have a vote button on my screen , but I'd give it 4/5. This is the monster story that kicked it all off and made Terry Nation a very rich man, I'm sure. It is a tad too long which is why I can't give it 5, but a good story and I'm sure it was very scary in its day.

Terry Nation once said that he originally intended to 'Take the money and fly like a thief' instead of writing a story at all. I think we're all glad that he did what he did.

4/5
For 1963/4 this was a great story. I also think it is tribute to the series due to the fact that as we see them in the new series today, they have only changed subtley from as they were.
When I first saw this story I was surprised that it was the second DW story. I knew the Daleks were a feature of the series and a cultural icon, but I didn't expect them to appear so early on in the life of DW.
It is 6 episodes long right? They writers were not subtle but did well to stretch the story out without making it too tedious!

It is 6 episodes long right? Actually I think it came in at seven in the end. Although the story has a lot of nice twists and turns I still don't think it's worth watching it all in one sitting, unlike stories such as 'Inferno' and 'Talons of Weng Chiang'

I think I'm the only person here who can watch all episodes at once whilst sober.
