Simple title, simple question.
I will have to admit, that Star Wars is actually my first love, with Doctor Who coming in a close second.
My dad is the Trekkie of the family, I watch it but thats it.
I am also a fan of Stargate, Futurama, and if you call Lost sci-fi, then count it in!
I haven't seen Firefly or Serenity as yet.

My first love in Sci-Fi is probably Star Trek: The Next Generation, followed closely by Doctor Who and Babylon 5.
So, why a Doctor Who website rather than one about Star Trek? The Universe in DW is more much complex and interesting than ST.

Babylon 5 (my girl-friend got me into it and we saw every single one 5 nights a week on a satellite channel)
Star Trek (all of them)
Blake's Seven (crap effects but great storylines)
Alien Nation
Space 1999 (Gerry Anderson was right! Flares were definitely IN in the year 1999!)

And Star Trek, boise, has been Done To Death, so I applaud you on your choice!
I've been really enjoying Stargate lately, catching up on all the seasons. It truly is a lot more fun than I originally gave it credit for. It's like Star Trek without the Messages. Star Wars will always be my passion (I have thousands of the d**n figures), but it will never be What It Once Was. I currently watch Invasion religiously, and am trying my best to enjoy Hyperdrive, but just can't seem to enjoy it. It wants so badly to be Red Dwarf, and it really is. Bad, that is. But I do love me some Red Dwarf.
Tragically, I could fill twenty pages of Sci-Fi I loathe, but why be negative? Except to say that to me, Babylon 5 will always be the goth kids in the corner that think they're all cool and different, but really are just a bunch of pretentious lightweights. Honestly, I liked the show well enough, but it wasn't ALL THAT, and jms's God complex is really, really annoying.
Snark over.

I'm not much of a sci-fi nut but aside from Doctor Who I do enjoy Red Dwarf and The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.
I've never really taken to Star Trek, no offence to all you fans out there but I can never really get into it, I just sit there and watch an episode with no feelings one way or the other towards it.

I would say that what I admire about the whole Star Trek thing is the coherent timeline and geography of the whole thing. Their pseudo-science is also very consistent.
Reading back through these posts I noticed several people mentioned Sapphire And Steel. That one should really have been in my list too, but I'm not sure I've ever thought of it as sci-fi. If anyone is into all the Big Finish audios then they should give their renditions of Sapphire and Steel a go; they're quite good, although it takes a while to get used to the actors who have replaced them...

I liked Star Trek because it had a less confusing Cannon, but then Star Trek: Enterprise came along and fell onto a few continuity traps.
I also like the Alien Movies (excluding AVP- didn't like that for some reason) oh- i also like Spawn comics (a bit on non sci- fi) and Friday the 13th movies, and most other horror movies in general. And RPG computer games.

"It's like Star Trek without the Messages." I suppose that's one big reason I'm not interested in Stargate. It's product.
The more "sci-fi" a program is, the less interested I am. The more SF it is, the more interested I am.
Star Trek (original) Dr Who Blakes Seven DS9 B5 Red Dwarf Sp:99 year one

I don't have any other sci-fi favorites, unless you count a few well enjoyed original episodes of Star Trek. Bye! :-)

Don't go guest! You're valid in this area! Original Trek is #1 in my purist science-fiction heart, then DW! Then b7 and DS9! Crap is not worshipped by me!
