I don't mean to be negative, but Torchwood just sounds like British X-Files to me. I don't think it will make it to US tv anyway, except maybe BBC America eventually.

Personally I see no similarity between Torchwood and the X-Files in that many ways. I think they'll be both different. And as for US TV? That's anyone's guess.

Funny, I read a piece of an interview where RTD states that he was inspired by the Buffy and Angel to create Torchwood and those shows are veeeeeeeery different from The X-Files!

Knowing RTD, there will be alot of exploration of personal relationships in this show, which would make it different from X-Files, at least in that respect. I wonder if Captain Jack will be actively exploring his bisexuality? That would really make the show different from most other sci-fi.
