Dalek Design - Inspired by 1920's Modernist?

I recently visited the Modernist Exhibition at the V&A Museum in London. On display is a work by Russian Modernist, Georgii Krutikov, called the Apartment Complex from his City in the Sky series.

I was immediately struck by the uncanny resemblance of the work to a Dalek. Does anyone know if Raymond Cusick ever acknowledged this painting as an inspiration for his Dalek design? It maybe that he had seen the painting and it had perhaps influenced him on a subconscious level.

I would be surprised if there were no link between the two.

Ah yes, I can see the resemblance between the Dalek design and the painting. Now I wonder where the cyberman design came from?
