Not released till September 2006 but we can be prepared! The Tardis lands in 22nd century Africa in the shadow of a dormant volcano. Agri-teams are growing new foodstuffs in the baking soil to help feed the world's starving millions - but the Doctor and Rose have detected an alien signal somewhere close by. When a nightmare force starts surging along the dark volcanic tunnels, the Doctor realizes an ancient trap has been sprung. But who was it meant for? And what is the secret of the eerie statues that stand at the heart of the volcano? Dragged into a centuries-old conflict, Rose and the Doctor are soon elevating survival to an art form - as ancient, alien hands practice arts of destruction all around them...Source of the blurb: www.drwho-online.co.uk/

How can you write the synopsis when it hasn't been released yet?

I can't but as I'm going to when it's released and as apparently I can rate it based on the blurb then I might as well just start now.

I can't but as I'm going to when it's released and as apparently I can rate it based on the blurb then I might as well just start now. As I've said elsewhere it's not the idea to rate the book on the blurb. The idea of posting these threads for the forthcoming novels is to advertise the release by posting the blurb and the cover, thus creating a thread to discuss the book before it comes out. You can then vote in the poll after it's been released. By adding the poll now, it means the forums aren't cluttered up with two threads on one book, i.e. one for discussion of the book before it's released and one for discussion after it's released. If it makes you happy in future threads of this nature I'll lock the polls so nobody can vote in them until the book is released, so then the problem's solved. Dominic

The Doctor and Rose travel to Chad in 2118 where they detect an alien signal nearby. I did not find any enthusiasm upon reading this novel as it is the situations and the guest characters fell very dull and the menaces in this book are not menacing enough. The book was not enthralling for me with a conclusion that was not very impressive.
