A good read but very very predictable, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment too much.
When I started the book I wasn't sure that it was going to be very good as the imagery wasn't all that complelling, but the firther in you go it actually takes on a nice feel of technology and sailing ships combined.

Starfall – a world on the edge, where crooks and smugglers hide in the gloomy shadows and modern technology refuses to work. And that includes the TARDIS. The pioneers who used to be drawn by the hope of making a fortune from the mines can find easier picking elsewhere. But they still come – for the romance of it, or old-fashioned organic mining. Or in the hope of finding the lost treasure of Hamlek Glint – scourge of the spaceways, privateer, adventurer, bandit... Will the TARDIS ever work again? Is Glint’s lost treasure waiting to be found? And does the fabled Resurrection Casket – the key to eternal life – really exist? With the help of new friends, and to the horror of new enemies, The Doctor and Rose aim to find out…
Yet to read it, but sounds decent enough!

I've read the first two chapters and the prologue and my overpowering thought of this book at the moment is the chapter length. Compared to some of the other books in the series they do seem a but substantial, maybe a bit too much so. The story seems interesting enough though, nice to see another alien planet. I hope to read some more of it over the next few days, maybe have it finished by next week.

Realised today that I hadn't posted my thoughts on the novel when I finished it some time ago Overall I think it was highly enjoyable, perhaps a tad predictable but a fun adventure yarn all the same.

The title casket as the name suggests is said to have the power to bring the dead back to life but upon finding it the Doctor and Rose and other characters discovers some disturbing revelations about it. The Resurrection Casket is an enjoyable adventure involving intergalactic pirates, cyborgs and a monster called Kevin who can’t break his contract in the people he kills although the ending was somewhat confusing.
