The first PDA I ever read, and loved every page, anyone else out there a fan of this one? I loved that Novel!!!! one of the best of the Seventh Doctor BBC range. I liked the fact The Doctor was willing to change history (which is something he was never willing- although did from time to time) to do for his companion. Minor spoiler below: Read Prime Time (which is another good seventh Doctor BBC Book) to find out how the Doctor came across Ace's body. and their is a mini arc, from Prime Time to Heritage (another good book recommended) to Loving the Alien.
And for the record i am glad he saved Ace, she is such a good companion.

'Saved Ace'? How does he 'save' her? She has a bullet in her head! And not only does he do absolutely nothing to reverse that damage, but he then allows a new Ace from another reality to cross over and join him.
So a) the real Ace dies - which is just rubbish and b) he steals a new one from another AU, cheapening the original as he doesn't even mourn her because he has 'New New Ace' and the other is just a dead body but he has his pawn back so who cares?
Uhm, no.
And we're not even going to wonder how the Seventh Doctor from another AU can cope without his own Ace if our Doctor has stolen her...
There's one and only one way I can read this story and that is in the chaos of the time stream, it rolls back and accidentally the original Ace is somehow resurrected from the position she is in at the start of this story. Like how there are two Sixth Doctors in the Eight Doctors. (and how tragic it is when I have to use that book to excuse some bad writing elsewhere!) The 'fake' one, of course, is the dead one but seeing as she's died, the timestream never wipes her out of existence.
Because by jove, if we are dealing with two Aces, then Perry / Tucker have just managed to eradicate all existence of a great character they helped to make.
-Jeremiah Ecks, who thought this book wasn't badly written overall apart from this rather massively glaring detail.
