Antepenultimate chapter of Flux.
This is the only episode of Flux in which it is co-written alongside showrunner Chris Chibnall and that co-writer is Maxine Alderton.
Playing Professor Jericho is Kevin McNally.
McNally had been in Doctor Who before during the classic run in Colin Baker's full debut as the Sixth Doctor, The Twin Dilemma in which he played Hugo Lang.
McNally's non-Who work included playing Jenna Coleman's father in the 2012 mini-series Room at the Top.
The Twin Dilemma is the story that came after The Caves of Androzani which guest starred Robert Glenister.
Like McNally, Glenister too later returned to Doctor Who during the Jodie era as he played Thomas Edison in Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror.
Another thing that Glenister has in common with McNally is that he too played father to a NuWho companion actor in Glenister's case it was to Karen Gillan in We'll Take Manhattan which like the aforementioned Room at the Top came in 2012.
In addition to this McNally is married to Phyllis Logan and she too was in a Jodie episode as she was Andinio in The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos.
Small world isn't it.
Village of the Angels has another guest star who had been in classic Who that of Vincent Brimble (Gerald).
For classic Who, Brimble had been Tarpok in Warriors of the Deep.
Village of the Angels has two guest stars who had been on Big Finish Doctor Who but not in the TV series before that of Jemma Churchill (Jean) and Blake Harrison (Namaca).
Professor Jericho states the date as November 21 1967, exactly 54 years before the broadcast of this episode.
After appearing briefly in The Halloween Apocalpyse, Claire is back, this time more substantially.
Here she is in an experiment conducted by Jericho.
Surprised when Claire, being in 1967, says that she was born on May 13 1985 before changing her birth year to 1935.
Shocking to see Claire briefly with Angel wings and then have Angel dust in her eyes, the latter reminding me of the same happening to Amy in The Time of Angels.
Just after arriving in the titular village the Doctor gets separated from Yaz and Dan with the Doctor meeting with Jericho and Claire while Yaz and Dan went to look for Peggy a child who recently gone missing.
During this search Yaz and Dan encounter an Angel which send them to 1901 where they found Peggy.
Quite a shock that the village in 1901 is surrounded by space!
At Jericho's house, Claire had drawn a picture of an Angel and the image of an Angel becomes an Angel.
The Doctor set fire to this picture but that resulted in a fiery Angel and that looks more terrifying.
Claire has been inhabited by an Angel and ultimately this sees the Doctor having a talk with this Angel with a vision of them at a beach which is an intriguing sight to looked at.
What a revelation from Angel Claire about the extraction squad from the Divison!
Joining Yaz, Dan and Peggy in 1901 briefly thanks to the Angels were Peggy's great-uncle and great-niece, the latter being the said Jean, who were also Peggy's guardians but they met their demise when they touched an Angel.
I am pretty sure that this is the first time which shows what happens when an Angel is touched and a very shocking sight at that.
What a sight of the polygraph drawing an Angel.
When Yaz, Dan and Peggy saw Mrs Hayward on the other side of the barrier it did not take me long to figure that Mrs Hayward is Peggy herself, 66 years older.
In making her way out of Jericho's house, what a shocking sight of the Doctor being surrounded by an army of Angels.
The Doctor has been recalled to the Division and what a big shocker seeing the Doctor transformed into an Angel! (I admit that I immediately saw in my mind the merchandise for the Doctor Angel.)
This marked the cliffhanger except the end credits gets interrupted by a mid-credit scene, the first time this has happened in Doctor Who, something I definitely wasn't expecting.
The mid-credit scene has Vinder searching for Bel and follows on from Bel searching for Vinder in the main body of the episode.
The trailer for the next chapter Survivors of the Flux has a couple of surprises that of an Ood and Kate Stewart!
