Celebration: Series opener. Directed by Adam McKay who is also executive producer. McKay had directed the movie The Big Short and while it is not related to Succession both deals with the same kind of world and makes me easy to feel that Succession is like a sequel to The Big Short. Intriguing beginning with it setting it at the birthday of Roy family patriarch Logan Roy and what a ruthless man he is in business and how it affects his relationship with his children. Things sure took a turn when Logan suffered from a brain haemorrhage and is taken to hospital.

Sh*t Show at the F**k Factory: Season 1, Episode 2. Quite funny that the family were more worried with the business than whether Logan was ever going to wake up. They sure had their priorities straight in this episode that takes place mostly at the hospital.

Sad Sack Wasp Trap: Season 1, Episode 4. Highlight of this episode is at the ball and quite a chatter about whether Logan was going to retire before announcing that he was back.

I Went To Market: Season 1, Episode 5. Logan's brother’s Ewan finally appears and he is played by James Cromwell. This casting of brothers is a mix of Doctor Who and Star Trek as Brian Cox (Logan) was Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman in An Adventure and Cromwell played Zefram Cochrane in Star Trek: First Contact. This makes Sydney Newman and Zefram Cochrane brothers the former a real person and the latter a fictional character. Newman is not just the creator of Doctor Who but the Whoniverse as a whole. Cochrane as a character has been established as the first human who created the warp drive system and this established a key element of what Star Trek is. Quite tense the reunion with Ewan. Shocking when Logan hit that kid.

Austerlitz: Season 1, Episode 7. The family has therapy together and yielded amusing results including the therapist getting hurt when jumping into the pool. I know from personal experience that family group therapy does not necessarily work and if it doesn’t work then try something that will work.

Argestes: Season 2, Episode 6. First appearance by Fisher Stevens. Coincidentally I am also seeing him in Early Edition. Quite intense when Shiv and Kendall were on stage and answer to a certain allegation. Funny when Tom having to the difference between listening and hearing. That deal with the Pierces sure fell flat.
Meanwhile Succession has been renewed for a third season.
