Doctor: "Who ya gonna call?" Rose: "Ghostbusters!" Doctor: "I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!" Who else thinks that this part was really lame?

Of course it was silly and lame, that was the whole point.

A little scene which gives us a glimpse into RTD's sense of humour wouldn't you say? If that's the case then I am tad disturbed.

Yeah, it was lame. The Doctor at some point took time out from saving worlds to familiarize himself with the movie "Ghostbusters"? I didn't like it when he quoted the Lion King in another episode, either. The Doctor is an alien and is busy all the time it seems. He should not be very familiar with pop culture. Rose, yes, but not the Doctor.

The Doctor, having been on and off Earth for considerable time, so he would've slowly familiarised himself with Earth culture and clichés, et cetera, et cetera. So, the Doctor knowing of "Ghostbusters" wouldn't have been surprising really.

I thought it was funny! ;D
