I haven't voted because I really don't know.
However, keeping in mind that he has actually confessed that wanting to be The Doctor as a child is what led him to become an actor... he certainly has the ambition and the drive to be the best Doctor he can possibly be.
Add to that the fact that the writers and some key members of the production crew are also life-long fans... I'm sure they'll get the best out of him that they can.
He can't possibly fail to be a great Doctor

Need a don`t know option because really you can`t tell this early. Not too keen on his wardrobe though. 1995 called, Jarvis Cocker wants his clothes back

I see what you're saying there, Chapel, but I just don't agree. After the 9th Doctor's modern wardrobe, I like the idea of going a little eccentric again. More alien-y.

I like the fact that the tenth Doctors costume is a bit different, but not to different, for instance its not in your face like Colin Bakers outfit or to modern like Eccleston's, it strikes a good balance.
And after seeing his performance in the Christmas Invasion he didn't fail to amaze. And i like the fact he seems more upbeat and at the same time no nonsense "No second Chances."
Finally, i liked the fact he seems more human. You would never get the Ninth Doctor to sit down and have Christmas dinner. :-)

From seeing the Children In Need Special, The Christmas Invasion and Attack of the Graske, I must say David Tennant is shaping up to be a fantastic Doctor.
I wouldn't say he was better than Christopher Eccleston as he was great as well, but he's a brilliant choice for the role and by the looks of the trailer for season two, it's going to be another excellent year ;D

I think he'll definitely be better than Eccleston but I think we haven't seen enough to judge any more yet.

Trailer for new series premiered on BBC One last night. Looks fantastic. Tennant was ten times better than Eccleston and it was only a minute long advert.

I love the new costume (especially the sneakers). It has that disorienting feel that worked well with Tom Baker and Colin Baker. I believe that Eccleston's costume fit his portrayal of the Doctor very well: no-nonsense, practical, dark, and to the point.

Yes being eccentric is an important part of the Doctor IMO. I also noticed that a few of you are saying that Tennant is better than Eccleston already. Whilst I do not disagree, I feel as if we as an audience may trap ourselves. how? In this day and age we are constantly going to want the next actor to be an improvement of the last otherwise we may drift away from the show. This will probably cause a head-ache for Russel T. Davies and the like when the time comes, but really how important is it that the next is an improvement of the last?

So far so good. I'm liking what I am seeing thus far!
I'm also liking that little angry streak he's got going. (Shouting at the Sister in New Earth.) Very, very Tom Baker-ish. Think back to when Tom would invariably encounter that sinister baddie who thought he was 'all that and a bag of crisps'. He'd become quite cross. It just suited his character. There's something lurking just beneath the surface.
This is a Doctor who's been around the cosmos. He's in his 10th incarnation. Is there really THAT much more than can surprise him?
I sincerely hope David continues to have a ripping time with the part! I'm certainly enjoying it. ;D

O.K. Tennant's five episodes in now.
New Earth: He impressed me. Good mix of humour and seriousness. Tooth And Claw: Poor charecterisation by RTD on this one. School Reunion: Okay but Sarah Jane scenes were a bit forced. The Girl In The Fireplace: Brilliant. Rise Of The Cybermen: Forced and unrealistic. Mostly writer's error.
Overall (so far): Okay but he seems to violently fluctuate each week at the moment. Superb one minute poor the next.

What I like in Doctor who: Humour, silly bits and Daleks. The Tenth Doctor has managed to fill in the first two criterias. The third we'll have to wait for but I'm patient. I wonder how many seasons he's going to do?

Recently I've seen quite a few negative reviews on recent Tenth Doctor stories and this concerns me. By the looks of things quite a few people have been sitting on pineapples or something equally as painful as they watched these episodes. I personally don't let minor faults spoil my viewing pleasure, so why should it spoil everyone else's? Remember what happened to Colin Baker, we don't to see that happening again do we? Anyway some stories like 'The Idiot's Lantern' and 'Rise of the Cybermen' are hideously underrated in my opinion. I just hope to see more positive reviews in the near future...
