Snake Bite:
Snake Bite is an exclusive to audio story from AudioGo featuring the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory and read by Frances Barber (Madame Kovarian).
Released in December 2012 and written by Scott Handcock.
This was the last audio story to feature Amy and Rory as this was released less than three months after their TV swansong The Angels Take Manhattan came out in September 2012.
In fact the CD cover for it has publicity images for this TARDIS team from their fourth to last TV episode together Dinosaurs On a Spaceship with Karen Gillan as Amy wearing the distinctive jumper that she wore in that episode.
Frances Barber narrates very well this story which involved a project conducted by scientists Doctor Elehri Mussurana and her husband Ernst Wharner. In fact I could see Frances Barber as Elehri Mussurana if this story had been for the TV series.
The story is not called Snake Bite for nothing as the TARDIS crew does encounter a serpentine species and what part Elehri Mussurana plays with their presence in this story.
As I said before the CD cover is from publicity images of the TARDIS team from Dinosaurs On a Spaceship and that had Amy being separated from the Doctor and Rory together for much of the episode. Perhaps those particular images were used because Snake Bite also has the Doctor and Rory together separated from Amy for much of this story.
The separation of two of the three travellers with the other for much of the story does not make Snake Bite any more or less enjoyable as author Handcock does deliver a good yarn out of it.
