Well I liked it. Now it's your say on the subject!

It was ok but a bit too CBBCish for my liking.

Enjoyed it, but its not a great episode. I was pleased that we had proper Dr Who monsters back (AKA a bloke in a suit) but the story was a bit weak.

Three out of five from me. I though it was generally either too childish (the flatulent aliens) or too domestic (all that stuff with Rose, Jackie and Mickey). having said that some parts of it were very good, particularly the transformation of the Slitheen from their skin suits and the scenes in the hospital (don't know why but the death of the pig still makes me shiver when I watch it. )

As someone mentioned earlier, it was pretty childish with the flatulence, etc. But I have a much, much worse complaint than that. Rose specifically asked The Doctor when the spaceship crashlanded in the Thames River "did you know that this was going to happen". The Doctor said, "I had no idea." Yet, when that woman something Jones was going to become Prime Minister in the future, he knew every detail about her....that she would serve 3 consecutive terms and usher in the "Golden Age". Hmmm, so let me get this straight -- he knew about her, but didn't know about the extraordinary event that led directly to her ascent to power.
Congrats to the Brits on this one -- I thought only American shows had such plotline holes you could drive an 18 wheeler through. I gotta admit...you outdid us on this one. One of the absolutely worst plot disasters I have ever seen!
P.S. The smell from this 2 parter wasn't coming from the discharge of the aliens...it was a poorly written, quite unbelievabe, quite childish script!

I thought it was average. Not one of the better episodes, but not bad.

3/5. I agree about some silly features but I liked the family stuff because for once in the show we see what happens when a companion comes back home after a long time. About berry's complaint concerning what the Doctor knows or doesn't know about the alines and Harriet Jones: maybe she was supposed to become Prime Minister regardless of the invasion attempt.

Does anyone know how old the Doctor really is? Does he really know? In Time and the Rani he says he's 953, but in this episode he tells Rose that he's exactly 900. Make up your mind, Doc.

In a letter published in Torchwood Magazine #18 Keith Morrison via email pointed out that when Tosh first appeared in Aliens of London she reacted to sounds coming from behind a door labelled 456, which of course the number designated to the aliens in Children of Earth. As Morrison had stated it was either a coincidence or Russell T Davies masterplan.
