How would you rate the eighth Doctor, as played by Paul McGann. I voted for eight (coincidence is a funny thing) because although he was not on our screens for very long I think he gave a fine performance and developed well in the audios and novels from Big Finish and the BBC

My least favourite Doctor. Though I have nothing against the actor who played him I just wasn't too overly keen on the character, though I did like the Eighth Doctor in the audio 'Shada' and the book 'The Eight Doctors', which encouraged me to give a score of 6/10 instead of 5/10.

Judging by his performance in the TV Movie and in the audios I'd say McGann is my 7th favourite and 6 out of 10. Could be more but because of his lack of 'proper' tv stories.

5/10.
Only know him from the TV movie and 3 novels, but I liked his Doctor from what I saw of it.

I think he would have been good in TV series form.

I think he would have been good in TV series form. Indeed, It's a shame the TV movie never sparked the proposed TV series in the end, although there are websites out there with what were the proposed story ideas and if they are as accurate as they claim, most of them were complete rip-offs of the original series.

It's a pity because he had the potential to be a good doctor.

Unfortunately I'm not really in a financial situation to buy them all so I rely on my local Library to borrow them from but I'm lucky if there's many in there. I have brought three of them so far, 'Storm Warning', 'Shada' and 'Scaredy Cat' (the fact they all begin with 'S' is a coincidence I assure you ) I enjoyed them all and might look to buying a few more, should my wallet allow

I've been meaning to check out the audios but never seem to have the time. Are they worth it?

The Stones of Venice? I liked. Nice Holmes/Hinchcliffe touch of having Europe once again fall apart into tiny principalities (etc.) again. It reminded me of the future/past intermingling (?) in Talons. McGann has a nice presence, and his voice and delivery are more interesting to listen to on audio than Davison or Colin, neither of whom sound like "themselves" any longer.

10/10 from me
I think he is a fantastic Doctor. but i do prefer the books of the eighth doctor to the audios. Sam Jones rocks as a companion.

I think that Paul McGann's Doctor should return in the new series somewhen for a multi-Doctor story.
