Big Finish recently acquired the licences to make audio dramas of The Omega Factor.
The Omega Factor lasted for ten episodes in 1979 and the following description is from Wikipedia: “Journalist Tom Crane (James Hazeldine) possesses untapped psychic powers that bring him to the attention of the scientists who comprise Department 7, a secret "need to know only" government organisation which investigates paranormal phenomena and the potential of the human mind.”
The Omega Factor also featured Louise Jameson as Dr Anne Reynolds in her first role since departing Doctor Who where she played companion Leela.
Sadly Hazeldine died in 2002 and the audio series will see Department 7 now headed by Anne Reynolds in a role reprised by Louise Jameson and the audio episodes will be released in May 2015.
I always felt that The Omega Factor was a precursor to Torchwood and Louise Jameson could have easily returned to the televised Whoniverse not as Leela but as her Omega Factor character Anne Reynolds in a Torchwood-Omega Factor crossover.

From Beyond: From Beyond is the first episode of Big Finish's The Omega Factor. This has Louise Jameson reprising her role as Dr Anne Reynolds from the TV series and John Dorney as Adam Dean, the son of Anne's late colleague Tom Crane (who was played by the late James Hazeldine). From Beyond is written by Matt Fitton. With From Beyond, Anne was still at Department 7 when it got shut down. At the same time she meets Adam Dean, son of her said late colleague. Upon this meeting Anne finds that Adam has the same abilities as that of his late father. Intriguing beginning to Big Finish's The Omega Factor with said meeting between Anne and Adam and the case that came across here. A good setting up point of what is to come for this team of Anne and Adam.
