Forever Autumn is an original novel featuring the Tenth Doctor and Martha. Released in September 2007 and written by Mark Morris. In 2008 in DWM’s annual survey Forever Autumn won the category of the best Doctor Who book in the previous 12 months and having read it, it is easy to understand why even though I don’t think I have read the other books it beaten to win this category. As well as reading the book I also listened to the audiobook but was presented as an abridged version to the book. The audiobook was read by Will Thorp (Toby Zed in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit). The audiobook was very enjoyable despite some variations and certain omissions from the book. One such omission from the audiobook that comes to mind was when Martha came to the diner called Leo’s Diner and she noted that Leo is of course the name of her brother. Such a shame that this part of the book didn’t make it to the audiobook. One part of the book that did make it to the audiobook is that of the Doctor making the joke of Martha running around naked.
