The final 2-parter of series 3 of The Sarah Jane Adventures!
So far so good! The orange Blathereen are a great inclusion to the story. Interesting to note that Tree is voiced by Simon Callow (Who I'm sure you'll remember has previously appeared in Doctor Who) and Leaf is voiced by the marvelous Miriam Margoyles!
Clyde using K9 for his test is completely wrong, thought I'm sure it's a set up so that K9 can save him and Rani while the flowers spread...

821st and 822nd Whoniverse episodes and the 248th Whoniverse story. Written by Rupert Laight. Even though this is Rupert Laight's first time writing for SJA it is however not the first time that he has written a Sarah Jane story. Laight had written for Big Finish, the Sarah Jane Smith episode Ghost Town. He is the only person to have written for both Sarah Jane's Big Finish audio and BBC TV adventures. The Gift features the Blathereen from the same race as the Slitheen. Although this is their first appearance on-screen, the Blathereen made their first appearance in the Ninth Doctor/Rose novel The Monsters Inside. The Monsters Inside took place in the Justicia System and Justicia just happened to get a mention on-screen in the Margaret Slitheen episode Boom Town. The Gift is also the name of a FlashForward episode which was shown not long before this SJA story. The less said about the Blathereens' table manners the better. The Gift is an allusion to greeks bearing gift. The production team could not use Greeks Bearing Gift as the story's title as that was already used for an episode of Torchwood. Knew there was something dodgy about the gift. I actually had low expectations about The Gift but it has turned out to be way better than I expected. Very good cliffhanger to Part 1. As good as Part 1, Part 2 is slightly better. The demise of the Blathereen is certainly a fun way to end season 3. If this turns out to be the series finale then the last shot of Earth would be a fitting end to the series.
