I'm sure you've all heard the sad news that Cameron Dixon has decided to take a break from writing for the reference guide.
Although I have taken his place as moderator of the forums, and also submit the synopses for the current Doctor Who TV series, there are many stories out there in book and audio format that need to be summarised for the guide.
I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to summarise all of these stories, although i shall be doing my best over the coming months to have a go, I do feel the guide would benefit from more writers submitting some material.
If you do own a copy of a Big Finish audio or book or indeed any title listed below, I do ask if it's possible for you to donate a few hours of your time into writing up a synopsis of the title for use on the guide. Your name will be credited with the synopsis unless you oppose and all in all you will be helping maintain the guide which has brought so much enjoyment to so many readers.
What follows is a brief and I believe incomplete list of title that as of yet do not have a synopsis to their name;
Official BBC Books
The Time Travellers
Atom Bomb Blues
The Stone Rose
The Feast of the Drowned
The Resurrection Casket I Am A Dalek
Big Finish Audios
Singularity The King Maker
Cryptobiosis Pier Pressure
Live 34 Night Thoughts
Scardy Cat
Other Lives Time Works The Veiled Leopard The Settling
Plus, The Cyberman Series
Scorpius Fear Conversion Telos
Big Finish Short Trips Anthologies
Seven Deadly Sins A Day in the Life
Solar System
The History of Christmas
Farewells
Doctor Who Magazine Comic Strips
The Cruel Sea
A Groatsworth of Wit The Betrothal of Sontar The Lodger
There are many other stories in need of summarising, which can be found in the 'Help Us' link from the main page or the topic here in the forum, which is pinned to every messageboard.
If you do have copies of these titles and are willing to donate your time to the guide to help keep it as up to date as possible, please contact either Dom or myself or post a reply in this thread.
Any information or offers to help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dominic

Thanks Davisonera It's not too important to have a deadline date, more a confirmation you can do it. If you can write a synopsis for Scaredy Cat in the general style of those already in the guide that would be fantastic. Thanks for the support

Hi, all. Just to clarify, I did do some preliminary work on future synopses before realising that I sorely needed this break. Dominic -- or Dominique -- feel free to e-mail me, and I'll send you the notes and rough-draft material I've got together. As it is, I'll be able to finish off at least the following synopses myself, within the next couple of weeks, before heading off into the sunset:
The Time Travellers
Short Trips: Seven Deadly Sins Short Trips: A Day in the Life Short Trips: Solar System
Wildthyme on Top The Coming of the Queen Project: Valhalla
----
Thanks to Dominic and all those to follow for stepping in after me, and thanks to everybody for their support, appreciation and kind words in the eight years I've been working for the Guide. One day I shall come back, yes, I shall come back; until then... well, you know the rest.

I've sent an e-mail to Dominique about sending in a summary for one of the Ninth Doctor Comic Strips which he said needed something seeing to.

OK, judging by the e-mail Cameron has sent me, the following is a list of synopses we now need.
Official BBC Books
Atom Bomb Blues
the Stone Rose
The Feast of the Drowned The Resurrection Casket I Am A Dalek
Big Finish
Singularity Other Lives Cryptobiosis Pier Pressure Night Thoughts Time Works The Kingmaker The Settling The Veiled Leopard
Cyberman: Conversion Cyberman: Telos
Sarah Jane: Buried Secrets Sarah Jane: Snow Blind Sarah Jane: Fatal Consequences Sarah Jane: Dreamland
Benny Summerfield: Parallel Lives Benny Summerfield: Something Changed Benny Summerfield: The Goddess Quandary
Gallifrey: Fractures
Short Trips: The History of Christmas Short Trips: Farewells
Other
Time Hunter: Peculiar Lives Time Hunter: Deus Le Volt
Wildthyme At large The Devil In Ms Wildthyme
Faction Paradox: The Ship of a Billion Years
As you can see that's long list which, coupled with the titles Dominique has already stated in the main 'Help Us' page, means a lot of gaps in the guide which need to be filled.
Cameron has sent me a series of notes for the titles:
Atom Bomb Blues Singularity Wildthyme at Large The Devil In Ms Wildthyme Cyberman: Conversion Benny Summerfield: Parallel Lives
These notes are very detailed and need to be edited a bit to make a full synopsis; so anyone who offers to write synopses for those titles will receive the notes via personal message to work from.
Other than that I can only ask again that if you down own one of the many titles listed above or from the list given by Dominique, please, if you can, donate some of your time to writing a synopsis for it and sending it in so we can keep the guide as up to date as possible.
Thank you for your time.

I've decided to start writing some more synopses for the 1981 and 1983 Doctor Who annuals. See if that's helpful.

I have bought I Am A Dalek so I can write one for that seeing as Scaredy Cat is done. I must apologise, I really should have PM'd you and said that Cameron had written the synopsis for 'Scaredy Cat'. If you could write one for 'I Am A Dalek' that would be superb

A little update; I'm looking to writing the synopses for the first three Tenth Doctor books; 'The Stone Rose', 'The Feast of the Drowned' and 'The Resurrection Casket'. They might take some time but nevertheless I'm looking to get them done over the summer.
Once again I must make an appeal to all of you to please, if you can, get in touch with either Dominique or myself and offer your services for writing synopses for the missing stories in the guide. With Cameron on an extended break from writing for the site there is going to be a lot of work to be done and rest assured I cannot do all of it on my own. Please, if you own one of the titles listed in my previous post consider taking a few hours one weekend to write us a summary of the plot; without these synopses the guide is going to fall behind with it's usual up-to-date entries for all things Doctor Who and I doubt there is a single reader of these boards who wants to see that.
So please, if you can get in touch to help us maintain the brilliant work that goes on on the site.
Thanks for your time;
Dominic

My apologies but I am afraid I may not be able to do the 'I Am A Dalek' synopsis as soon as I originally thought but I shall still try.

My apologies but I am afraid I may not be able to do the 'I Am A Dalek' synopsis as soon as I originally thought but I shall still try. That'll be fine, don't worry about the delay. I must appeal again to all of you readers out there, please get in touch and help us keep the guide up to date. All we ask is that if you have one of the titles which does not currently have a synopsis on the site then please take an hour or two to write a summary of the story and submit it for use on the site, all synopses will be credited to those who write them. There appears to be very little interest so far in the amnesty and it would be a great shame for the usual up-to-date precision of the Guide to start going downhill now Cameron has taken a break. So please, help us keep the site up to date and offer your services by contacting Dominique or myself. There are notes for several of the missing stories I can send to you to work on if you wish to summarise the relevant story, a list of which can be seen in my previous post listing all of the titles in need of summarising. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Dominic

Well I don't want to be the first one to let the side down, so I think I get to work on some more summaries tonight.
