Takes place after Boom Town as when Rose calls her mom, her mom mentions about Mickeys trip to Cardiff. This would make it out that the trip to Raxicorrafilb(can you really blame me for not being able to spell it ) took longer the expected. PS. Will you include the short storys from the annual! I think this is their time placement: What I did on my christmas holiday- because the doctor is alone Rose The End of The World The Unquiet Dead Doctor vs Doctor- She mentions getting change so knows about the costume place and this could orrcur when they are trying to get back to earth Aliens of London World War Three The clockwise man The monsters inside The Mask of Makassar- Alien world and its not her first Winner take all Pittar- Patter Hope any of this helps

Fine with The Stealers of Dreams -- I've moved it after Boom Town.
But for the short stories, you'll have to be more convincing...
For now, they've been arbitrary placed between Father's Day and The Empty Child.

Having checked for the placement of Mr Nobody, I also did the short stories while I had the annual on hand.
Note: placement is mostly based on illustrations, as there are few (if any) references in the stories themselves.
Doctor vs Doctor: we've got Rose in the outfit she wore for until Aliens of London (bar period clothing for The Unquiet Dead, and her hair is styled the same way. The Doctor's jumper is the same colour as the one seen during The Unquiet Dead and Aliens of London/World War Three.
Although Russell T Davies has said there isn't meant to be any gaps between stories until World War Three/Dalek, given the nature of the story of Doctor vs Doctor, it would best fit between The Unquiet Dead and Aliens of London.
The Masks of Makassar: Rose's clothing and hair is the same as for Rose to Aliens of London; Doctor's jumper colour is black. No idea about placing it, but no earlier than after Aliens of London/World War Three, so that Doctor's dreamscape for Rose is accurate, and definately after The Monsters Inside.
Pitter-Patter: Illustrations make it harder to place, but there are clues. The Doctor's jumper looks to be blue, and Rose's hair is styled as per Rose to World War Three, but the clothing looks similar to that seen in Dalek. My best suggestion for placement is between Winner Takes All and Art Attack.
What I did on my Christmas Holidays by Sally Sparrow: No sign or mention of Rose, Doctor's jumper colour is black. No idea for placement, other than to suggest at the end of Rose, as a quick trip before popping back to convince Rose to join him.

Thanks Cameron.
I have updated the Reference Guide accordingly.
It now looks like the 9th Doctor area of the guide is completed. Anything missing? Any more suggestions?

Thanks Cameron. I have updated the Reference Guide accordingly. That's fine; I'm just glad my notes were of use. Just had a look at the annuals page, and where it says Although Russell T Davies has said there isn't meant to be any gaps between stories until after Dalek, it should be: "Although Russell T Davies has said there isn't meant to be any gaps between stories until after World War Three," - There isn't a gap between Dalek and The Long Game. It now looks like the 9th Doctor area of the guide is completed. Anything missing? Any more suggestions? All the official stories (television, novels, comic strips, short stories) seem to be covered. So unless the BBC decide to do some more novels with the Ninth Doctor, or Big Finish get a license to do stories based on the new series, that looks to be the Ninth Doctor's era covered. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has tried to place the comics and short stories, and see if their conclusions match or differ from mine Cameron

I've had a thought about the placement of The Masks of Makassar, and I'm wondering if it might fit better after Winner Takes All, as that way the Doctor would have Rose's most recent memories of the Estate to create the dreamscape from.

Having reread the end of The Monsters Inside and the start of Winner Takes All, The Masks of Makassar fits best after Winner Takes All.
Phew!
