Hello,
I may perhaps be developing an obsession for Dr. Who. I do enjoy the guide immensely, the summaries and expanse of information collected is astounding. I've spent the last week perusing the forum, and most people here seem very knowledgeable.
I was first introduced to Dr. Who in the mid-80s as a child, and I've only recently regained interest in the past couple of years with the new series. Which I admit I enjoy. I'm currently watching the first season episodes of the first doctor, and just finished the movie.
I'm interested in understanding how he's evolved over the years and I have lots of questions about references and episodes. I've never really participated in a forum before so I have much to learn.
~Just Curious
A few starter questions: (maybe they belong somewhere else?)
1. I read what one forum member wrote about Human Nature (novel vs tv episode), and not having read any books, I read your summary. What does that mean exactly? Did Dr. Who relive the same experience once as the 7th Doctor and once as the 10th? That's a bit weird isn't it? Not very creative or exciting. Although, before I discovered in the forum that it was a repeated story I thought it was a decent episode.
2. The television series (which is all I ever knew of before I found this site) and the novels and comics, are they all interrelated? or do the TV episodes stand alone from everything else?
3. How can I learn more about Dr. who's mysterious family and the master? For example which episodes should I explore first to learn about them? (maybe this doesn't make sense)
4. Is the doctor supposed to get younger with each regeneration? cause hs'e real old in the first doctor series, now he seems real young as the 10th doctor. Is he going to regenerate as a teenager next time or something?
My advanced appreciation.
