Now this applies to all four episodes, not just part one. I give it 4/5, what's your score for this story?

Poor. I've watched it a number of times but it drags too long for me, and is fairly uninteresting.

5/5
The first episode is a masterpiece, a great pilot to a great show. It gives the viewers just enough to set the scene and keep them hooked for the next 40 years!
Okay, the other 3 episodes aren't as good, but the pilot is enough to get the entire story a max score.

Even the greatest shows in history often have not great pilots. I agree that first episode is a good introduction for the characters but the cavemen story isn't that great so eventually I gave it 3/5.

4/5, the first episode really is a great piece of television although the other episodes tend to drag a little. They do have some interesting scenes, such as the Doctor preparing to kill the wounded caveman in order to make a quicker escape and also the fight at the end but some of the scenes are really a bit too talky for my liking.

I think that part one is the best but I like the other three episodes as well.

Unfortunately I missed the first couple of minutes of the first episode and it has been a little while since I last saw it, but yes I agree that this was a great opening to a great series even if the 3 cavemen episodes let it down as a whole.
4/5

Well I got to watch the first episode in full the other day, yet to watch the other episodes. This episode is great and wonderful.
A small bit of Trivia is that Susan claims to have been born in the 49th Century.
I will also point out that until I rewatched this first episode the other day, I did not realise the Gallifreyan numerals (which Susan began to draw) had begun from this, I had previously thought it was something that appeared in the 8th Doc movie.

Also amoungst the Cavemen there is a fair amount of brutal killing amoungst the tribe which seemed a bit extreme for me, especially with the Doctor just sitting back letting it happen. Granted he is an old man and can't do much, but The Doctor has always been one to try and avoid death where possible.

3/5. The first episode is 5/5, but the other 3 episodes bring it down a bit. The Caveman episodes could have been better.

Ok, to copy how Thinker did it (with my scores):
1st Episode: 6/5 (I only give that to 2 doctor who stories ever!) 2nd Episode: 4/5 3rd Episode: 5/5 4th Episode: 4/5
And the average works out at just under 5, but hey! Thats it rounded.

Oh noes, the creepy cavemen are going to sneak up on him in the night! If that creeped him out, what happened when he saw the episodes where the enemies weren't actually human!

I find it difficult to understand how cavemen would be scary-even for children!
