The Artist at the End of Time is the second episode of Once and Future, Big Finish's 60th Anniversary series. Released in June 2023 and written by James Goss. Once and Future has the Doctor experiencing degeneration and The Artist at the End of Time mainly features Fifth Doctor Peter Davison. Davison is joined here by his real-life daughter Georgia Tennant as Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter and Colin Baker not exactly as the Sixth Doctor but as the Curator. The Curator was first introduced in The Day of the Doctor when he was played by Tom Baker and implied to be a future Doctor revisitng a past face. The said father and daughter had played alongside each other before as their characters in Relative Time, an episode of Legacy of Time in 2019. Long before Jenny, Georgia had first worked with her father on Big Finish as a different character in the Fifth Doctor story Red Dawn. The Fifth Doctor who meets up with Jenny again and looks into artwork of worlds and these worlds are destroyed after they became the subject of said artworks. They eventually find the artist refer to the episode title and that artist is the Curator. Davison and Tennant displayed very well their real-life familial relationship in the portrayal of their characters* and Colin Baker provides a sincere performance as the Curator and the three of them makes up a good core cast of this episode. Other than that I found very little to enjoy about this episode as I felt it was dull, gloomy and flat.
*I should note that I haven't listened to Relative Time while Red Dawn does not have them playing father and daughter.
