Tony Dow has passed away.
Born on April 13 1945, Dow was the visual effects producer for the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie.
As well as Doctor Who, Dow also worked on the Star Trek and Babylon 5 universes.
For Star Trek, he directed the DS9 episode Field of Fire.
For Babylon 5 he was visual effects supervisor for the episodes The Hour of the Wolf, Whatever Happened to Mr. Garibaldi?, The Summoning (1996) & Falling Toward Apotheosis.
He also directed on Babylon 5 as well as spin-off Crusade.
For Babylon 5 he directed Atonement, Moments of Transition Rising Star, Secrets of the Soul & A Tragedy of Telepaths.
For Crusade he diredted Patterns of the Soul & The Memory of War.
Dow had also been an actor and his well known acting work was as Wally Cleaver in the Leave It To Beaver TV series.
His other work as an actor included The Eleventh Hour (not the Doctor Who episode), The Kentucky Fried Movie (where he reprised his Leave It To Beaver character in a sketch called Courtroom), The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries (in his case for The Hardy Boys in the episode The Creatures Who Came on Sunday) and Knight Rider.
He died on July 27 2022 at the age of 77.
