Will anybody in the U.K. comment or review of the DVD?

Fantastic. As someone who hasn't seen the first three storys i have to say that they were great. The Speacil feactures were all very watchable. Well worth the 24.99 that i payed for it and has change my view on the whole of William Hartnells run as the doctor.

In my opinion it has to be the best Doctor Who DVD release so far. The restoration work is simply stunning, the extras are fascinating; a joy to watch and it's presented in a very stylish box. Well worth the money and I'd recommend it to anybody.

When I looked at the 'Beginning' boxet I was interested, especially in seeing how it all started. I thought the comedy sketches on the disc for 'An Unearthly Child' were brilliant! My favourite story of the lot is 'The Daleks'. Shame that 'Marco Polo' is missing from the BBC video archives, all that's left being the soundtrack and telesnaps, but at least I got a glimpse of it as a 30minute reconstruction.

If only I had a time machine like the TARDIS, I'd go back, copy the tapes of the missing episodes and return them to the BBC, in the year 1990. Maybe we'd have got 'Marco Polo' as part of the boxset too.

There are no Italian editions of DW DVDs (I hope for the new series...) so I'm buying the English editions and though generally I wait for a special offer I bought The Beginning box set as soon as it was published because I wanted to see the first DW adventures and I'm enthusiast! After watching the adventures I couldn't help thinking that we can see them in a better quality than the original viewers thanks to the great restoration work done on them showed on today's TV sets. Besides the special features are IMHO a must see for anyone who wants to learn how the show was created.

Quite enjoyable especially hearing accounts of the early years of the show.
