Part 2 of the season 42 finale.
Written by showrunner Chris Chibnall.
The Doctor and Master are on Gallifrey and the latter makes reference to assassinate Presidents. No doubt a reference to The Deadly Assassin.
Although I had seen a picture of it beforehand I was still taken aback when the Master placed the Doctor in that containment.
The Master then tells the story of what would be the origins of the Time Lords which starts with Tecteun and finally the story of the Timeless Child.
With the Timeless Child, we see the first regeneration on Gallifrey.
The Doctor asked what became of the Timeless Child, I would not had any problem if the Master said that he is the Timeless Child but instead he said the Doctor is that child!
The Doctor being the Timeless Child got me off-balance.
No doubt this has become polarising among fans.
Quite a moment when Ethan was saved from being executed by the Cybermen by other Cybermen.
However these other Cybermen were Yaz, Graham, Ravio and Yedlarmi in the Cybersuits.
Cute seeing Yaz's head after taking off the Cyberhead but funny that Graham taking off his.
Shocking when the Master TCEd Ashad. After being such a menace since The Haunting of Villa Diodati wasn't expecting he would come to the end like that.
Funny the pun of the Master saying that he cut Ashad to size.
Intriguing revelation about the Time Lord secret service known as the Division and that story with Brendan was their devising. What was not known before was that the Doctor saw the Brendan story in her mind.
Just as I thought I had seen everything, there's CyberMasters and seeing one of them regenerating!
Not surprised on seeing the Ruth Doctor as I figured that we would seeing her again this soon.
However the Ruth Doctor turns up here as a Matrix projection but hardly still left unexplored of how this Doctor came to be.
Funny when the Doctor (the main one of this story) said nothing ventured nothing blown!
Surprised on seeing images of past episodes including past Doctors as the Doctor goes through her memories.
Among these memories is the mindbending scene between the Fourth Doctor and Morbius in The Brain of Morbius infamous for presenting the idea of pre-Hartnell Doctors.
No doubt for the sake of sanity, the idea of pre-Hartnell Doctors went largely ignored by fandom until this very point.
Shocking that Ko Sharmus stayed behind and saved the Doctor from sacrificing herself as he did it in her place.
I seriously doubt that this is the end of the Master.
Oh my a house TARDIS brings the Doctor's friends to Earth while a tree TARDIS brought the Doctor back to where her TARDIS is.
Shocking that this ends in a cliffhanger as the Judoon appears in the TARDIS to arrest the Doctor and teleports her to a prison planet.
The title card then says that Doctor Who will return in Revolution of the Daleks.
Revolution of the Daleks will be the fourth R... of the Daleks story after Resurrection, Revelation and Remembrance.
Those previous three R Daleks story featured Davros. So will Davros be in Revolution as well?
If this was out of 10 I would perhaps give The Timeless Children a 7, with the cliffhanger earning it an extra mark to 7.
If this had been a differently told story I would confidently say that this was well executed but instead this had me confused on so many levels.
