Part 1 of the season 42 finale.
Written by showrunner Chris Chibnall.
Spooky introduction in the teaser.
Guest stars Julie Graham.
Graham had guest starred in The Sarah Jane Adventures story Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith playing the anti-Sarah Jane, Ruby White.
Here she plays Ravio.
This presents the story in rural Ireland in the 20th century where an abandoned baby soon named Brendan and grew up to be a policeman.
Had me wondering what does this have to do with the main story in the far future with the Cybermen.
Certainly intriguing moments when Brendan as a new cop miraculously survived a fall when in pursuit of a perpetrator and then later on when Brendan as an old man has retired but his father and his friend haven't aged in all that time and then takes him to the back room with questions to this left unanswered.
Yaz mentioned about gold being lethal to Cybermen and I had felt somehow sure that the subject of gold wasn't brought up in previous Cybermen NuWho stories. However it was pointed out to me afterwards that the Eleventh Doctor used gold against the Cybermen in Nightmare In Silver.
Shocking when Cyber drones flew by.
Also shocking when bits of Cybermen hit the pod carrying Graham, Yaz, Ravio and a couple of others.
Artistically the warrior class Cybermen on the Cybercarrier looked impressive. Too bad it soon got ruined by the Cyberleader Ashad.
When communicating with Yaz on the radio, the Doctor asked "Can you hear me?" and that was the name of the episode, a couple of episodes ago.
Graham makes reference to the butcher's. This came on February 23 2020 and on the same day Outlander 5.2 Between Two Fires coincidentally had Claire (Caitriona Balfe) too making a reference to the butcher's.
The Boundary looked impressive and it was shocking when Gallifrey appeared.
More shocking when the Master then came through and says to be afraid as everything is about to change and marking the cliffhanger.
