Written by Ed Hime. Guest stars Laura Fraser and she was David Tennant's love interest in Casanova & Single Father. Casanova was just before Tennant became the Tenth Doctor while Single Father was just after Tennant's departure as the Doctor in 2010. Spyfall started the season by having a cold opening, Orphan 55 reverts back in not having one. Funny with Ryan and the virus at the vending machine. Shocking when the Dregs first turned up. Got taken aback when Graham bumped into an invisible wall. Orphan 55 is the name of the world that the TARDIS crew found themselves in and it was a shock of the revelation that it is Earth in the future and that the Dregs are mutations of human beings. This made me think of The Mysterious Planet as the said planet Ravalox too was revealed to be Earth in the future. The Mysterious Planet started season 23 The Trial of a Time Lord, a season which received a severe criticism at the time by a certain Chris Chibnall. Orphan 55 sure provided a good lesson with oxygen and carbon dioxide, the key difference between humans and the dregs. It was from the middle of the episode that it wasn't doing it for me although it did pick up here and there. Was not surprised that afterwards I read that its reception was not very good. The Doctor's statement at the end was what enabled me to give this a (barely) passing grade as she emphasised that humans can be the worst monsters of all.
