Some of the ST stories are so bizarre (like "Face-Painter" in ST: A Universe of Terror) that I don't see how it's possible to fit them in continuity. I don't want to be a continuity hardass, but wouldn't it make sense to put these types stories in a different category? Say, something like DC Comics Elseworld stories, or Marvel's Ultimates?
Thoughts?

As is also the case with Star Wars and Star Trek, Doctor Who has many authors writing their piece within the Universe of the creation. There is always contridiction, therefore personally I think that if it fits, then add it. If it is alternate, put it to the side as an alternate reality. Most of which Dom has been doing.
Oh and I am writing this without knowing the story you are refering to.

I say fit them in, too. Quite a lot seem to have continuity in mind when they set out to write them and those that don't can usually find a place. But I've not read "Face-Painter" either.
