Directed by Australian Jennifer Perrott in her second episode after The Tsuranga Conundrum and Kerblam! is written in his series debut by fellow Aussie Pete McTighe.
Kerblam Man appears in the TARDIS as he makes a delivery for the Doctor. Did think sometime later that there must be something wrong with the TARDIS defence system if the Kerblam Man could easily appear like that before reminded by Whovians that outside forces have unexpectedly came into the TARDIS numerous times.
The delivery was a fez. Undoubtedly the fez was ordered by the fez-loving Eleventh Doctor.
The way that the travellers came into Kerblam reminded me of how the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble came into Ood Operations with the cover story they are from the Noble Corporation.
The Doctor chides her companions on being robophobic a term that was introduced in Robots of Death.
The Doctor and her companions joined the workforce in Kerblam and it is funny that Graham was assigned as a cleaner.
I am currently listening to the First Doctor Big Finish story The Dalek Occupation of Winter which coincidentally includes a workforce atmosphere.
The Thirteenth Doctor mentioned about meeting Agatha Christie and Agatha Christie was in The Unicorn and the Wasp which is a Tenth Doctor/Donna episode which was four episodes after the earlier mentioned Planet of the Ood.
There was a hint of a potential workplace romance between Kira and Charlie. This made me think of my wife Karen Gillan at her character Eliza Dooley’s workplace in Selfie and made me wish that I was in Selfie so I could have a workplace romance with her.
Exciting when Ryan, Yaz and Charlie at the conveyer belts and then dodging lasers.
Enthralling with the revelation of the army of TeamMates and reminded me of a similar sight of robots in the movie I, Robot (2004).
Horrifying on the weaponisation of bubblewrap and that it cost Kira her life.
Very disappointing that Charlie turned out to be the real villain in all this but the episode did it well in the revelation of this as this was not about the problems of technology but rather how it can be misused.
The Next Time trailer sees Alan Cumming as James I. Knew this episode was going to have Cumming as the king as soon as I learnt that the episode is called The Witchfinders.
