While my wife Karen Gillan will be back as Nebula in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, things are not so certain with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as production has been placed on hold with 2020 being pushed out as the expected release date with Disney never setting in stone the timing for Vol. 3’s release. This comes as Disney is standing firm with its firing of director James Gunn despite a letter of support for him by the Guardians cast including my wife Karen. www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/guardians-galaxy-3-production-hold-james-gunn-firing-1137400This article has a video that includes a clip and a picture of my wife Karen as Nebula and the said letter with Karen’s signature on it.

After it was announced that it has been put on hold, it is now been announced that production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, which would probably have seen my wife Karen Gillan return as Nebula, has been delayed to February 2021.

TV WEEK (Australia) of May 20-26 2023 has a piece on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Entitled “One Last Ride” it has an interview with the main cast including my wife Karen as she talks about returning as Nebula here.
For my wife Karen it was not easy to bring Nebula’s arc to an end with this being the final in the trilogy of Guardian of the Galaxy movies.
My wife Karen: “I was in denial.” [TV WEEK states my wife Karen joking of saying goodbye.] “I’ve been with Nebula for nearly a decade and it’s extraordinary to show different sides of her. It’s been a fascinating exploration.”
At this point the piece mentions Doctor Who: "The Scottish actress experienced cult fandom before any of the others [her Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars] thanks to her breakout role in UK sci-fi favourite Doctor Who. She says youth [TV WEEK: “she won the role when she was 21”.] played a part in her “blind optimism”.
My wife Karen: “I was young and naive, so I thought lots of things came with that level of fandom, but I was more intimated to join the Marvel universe; it was more removed from where I am from.”
My wife Karen says she could keep playing Nebula forever and says this about her Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars which concludes the piece: “We’ve been through so much. None of us, apart from Zoe [Saldana who plays Gamora], had much of a film career, so were all catapulted together. When you go through changes like that, it bonds you forever.”

Released in 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as indicated in its title the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie and the 32nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is the last in the trilogy of Guardians of Galaxy and all three were written or co-written and directed by James Gunn. Includes the main reason why I am seeing this, my wife Karen as Nebula. Playing the villain here the High Evolutionary is Chukwudi Iwuji. Iwuji had guest starred in the Doctor Who story The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, a story with my wife Karen as Amy. Iwuji had also worked with Gunn in the Peacemaker TV series which Gunn created and Iwuji a principal cast member. For the plot of Vol. 3 it centres on Rocket's past and how it comes back to haunt him here. Overall an enjoyable plot about Rocket and how the trilogy comes to an end and Peter's decision to leave the Guardians and return to Earth to be reunited with his grandfather who he hasn't seen since he had been abducted when he was a young boy by Yondu in the first film. An emotional end with Peter back with his grandfather and despite this being the end of the trilogy and although a fourth film hasn't been ruled out but one that would consist of a new team, a note at the end of Vol. 3 stated that the legendary Star-Lord will return!
