Written by Cavan Scott, this is the Ninth Doctor’s Christmas Special in Titan Comics as Chris Eccleston left the TV series just before the first Christmas Special The Christmas Invasion which marked the debut adventure of his successor Tenth Doctor David Tennant.
Scott states in his writer’s commentary that he felt he needed to give 9 his own Christmas Special although he has forgotten The Unquiet Dead which took place at Christmas.
For this Special, the Ninth Doctor is travelling with Rose and original Titan Comics companion Tara and they meet a Slitheen adversary from this comic series.
As someone who has not read 9’s Titan adventures before, this Christmas Special is a remarkably well written festive special for this Doctor which sees TARDIS team meet their old Slitheen adversary and in the midst of them on live television.
