The Boy Who Kicked Pigs is a short novel by Tom Baker which was published in 1999 which I read some years after that and the audiobook of it read by Baker was released by BBV. I recently listened to the audiobook and while The Boy Who Kicked Pigs is not technically related to Doctor Who, I am putting it here as the accompanying interview with Baker talked much about his time as the Doctor. Baker read superbly his book with a very eerie feel to it. It sure feels very hard to like the protagonist Robert Caligari but the way he has been written by Baker was well done especially how Robert has his detestation of people and the denouement felt like something that Robert truly deserves.
The interview was very enjoyable. It definitely resonated with me when Baker in writing the book says an influence to it was with adults thinking they know what children should be thinking. This resonated with me because from personal experience my life would have turned out differently if the principal of the high school I went to hadn’t said the wrong thing to me. The Doctor Who bits in the interview was also quite interesting to listen to including recounting a line in Genesis of the Daleks.
