How would you rate the seventh Doctor, as played by Sylvester McCoy? I give him an eight. He was a bit too clownish for me in his first season but frankly he mellowed well with time. Such a pity we never saw more of the 'darker' Doctor.

The Seventh Doctor, I rather enjoyed his performance in 'Remembrance of the Daleks'. Also 'Survival' and 'The Curse of Fenric' were well written too. I didn't like his first series much though, the highlight of that for me being 'Delta and the Bannermen'. Shame about 'Paradise Towers' though. It's also a pity the series had to get axed after the 1989 run.

5 out of 10. I just personally didn't like him much. My 8th favourite doctor.

9/10.
McCoy was one of my favourite Doctor's. He had some poor stories but as the character, he was tops.

I think had the series been axed permenantly, 'Remembrance of the Daleks' would have been a good send off for the pepperpots in my opinion.

7/10 from me. Whilst I thought he was a good personallity for the Doctor, I didn't think he was outstanding, he didn't shine.

Granted, McCoy's performance did grate at times, but overall it was good. Those outbursts of his could sometimes be difficult to watch.

I did like the idea of the personality, didnt like the way Sylvester portrayed it. SO I gave it a 4, unfortunately.

I would give him a 8. He was good, but he had his flaws. He had started to improve the series considerably when the show was cancelled. I dont think we can ever know how good he could have been if he had been allowed to keep going until the 7th Doctors regeneration. There is a considerable gap between the end of the series and the start of the tv-movie that books try to fill, but I am sure the series would have gone in a different direction. I do think he is a underappreciated Doctor on this Forum, sadly.
