The 11th Hour: Matt Smith sucks. The giant eye thing from Twilight Zone is not scary. Monsters that wait around for the trio to revive each other> not exciting, not good. No pace, not real threat, not good acting. Amy is the worst companion ever. A candy gram? The Doc should have taken the guy from Merlin with him. Matt Smith does not impress. This story has no pace, is over long and no real sense of danger or plot. Cracks indeed.Terrible.
Beast Below: even worse; the Doc gets angry; Amy sees a solution where he does not; plot: a giant space whale that saved your children and you and that lives under you is ...forgotten about. Poor story, poor plot. Badly thought out. Matt Smith seems a bit better and in his first season up to the Lodger, he is okay. But then there are those last few episodes...he's awful.
Victory of the Daleks: a bad remake of Power of the Daleks and Day of the Daleks; The Daleks cannot hit the Doctor who just...stands around and talks and talks and then runs from four Daleks shooting at him. Planes in space. Planes...in...space. A cyborg. Truly awful. ANd then there is that scene of slutty Amy jumping the Doctor...before her wedding. Poor Rory.
Flesh and Stone: after a great start---okay the angels are different now---we get an ending where the Doc can hold on but the angels cannot. River Song does not impress and the whole tardis screeching / brakes thing is stupid stupid stupid. Tardises do not have brakes.
Cold Blood: after a good first episode, a terrible second. Awful resolution. The Doc can kill hundreds but he scolds a woman for killing a nasty biatch of a Silurian to protect her own son. Oh and Rory dies for the first time in a crack. No biggie, Amy le'ts move on.
The Pandorica Opens and the Big Bang; THAT SPEECH. I know almost everyone loves Matt's grandstanding speech but it was here that he quit being the Doctor for me. He sucks. That speech sucks. This plot sucks. Why he wasn't blasted was beyond me. The coalition of aliens was embarrassing and didn't make sense and boring. The only good thing was the Cyberman attacking Amy. Amy gets killed for the first time. The Universe gets rebooted. Amy forgets the Doc but he implanted her mind with him. She wishes him back to reality. While being mean to her parents. Karen is a very bad actress. I do not believe a word she says. She's not convincing and has no rapport with either leading man. Rory gets turned into an Auton but he got rebooted back. He waited 1000 years. I don't care. About any of it. I hate River Song now. She's awful. Her story, a nice idea, does not work as presented. Oh and the Doctor dies and comes back. The Doctor dies and comes back. Amy dies and comes back. The universe dies and comes back. Rory dies and comes back. Twice.
In fact, Moffat's stories have a lot of nice ideas but they are often poorly executed. Amy's story of waiting is really just THE GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE retreaded and ...worse.
The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon: on original transmission, I sort of liked these but in hindsight as to how this "story" played out, these two suck. A little girl in a suit kills the Doctor. She's lost. Oh who cares? Not me. Some nice sequences ruined by bad acting from Karen and poor characterization of Nixon being a two dimensional baddie/goodie.
Curse of the Black Spot: starts out good but by the second half a mess. The Doc seems happy that the crew get "killed." The resolutions and explanations stink. Rory dies again. Shame as Karen's acting is good...for once (well she was good in Amy's Choice also). The Doc almost wants to leave Rory dead. Pirates fly spaceships and one seems okay with the Tardis too. Oh and the TARDIS interior is puke.
The Almost People: after a good first episode, more of a mess than anything else. The Doc doubles. Yawn. Cue bad Matt Smith acting. Cue bad Karen acting. Cue threats that aren't. The Doc sacrifices two clones, then destroys the Amy clone, a woman with an eye patch, then the Doc takes on the clone rights thing. Bad. Bad. Bad. Amy spreads her legs for a lady with an eye patch.
A Good Man Goes To War: Doc starts a war and gets people killed to try to save Amy' and her baby only it's not really her baby. He messes up big time and doesn't really seem to care he gets people killed. Oh and River stays out of it all until the end where the reveals she is the daughter of Amy and Rory whle they did it in the TARDIS (again not a bad idea but poorly executed IMO). River please die in this show for good. A good plot is the Doc living opposite to River's time line but it is so badly presented and explained as not to matter. The lines are just spoken. Headless monks. Skulls that eat a big Viking monster man played poorly by Mark Gatiss. Terrible story. Just awful.
Let's Kill Hitler: the worst. River wants to kill the Doc. She's regenerating but it's no biggie---she can knock down some Nazis on the way to a wedding to steal some clothes. What? Awful. Awful non story. Oh and we have to make sure we are made aware Hitler's a bad wimp that even Rory can punch. Another 1 D characterization. The novels did it better. Thi s is an unfunny comedy.
The God Complex: bad clichés from the 1960s and Stephen King add up to a bad design monster and more claptrap. Poor acting. I don't care about this show any more. It's bad.
The Girl Who Waited: good idea, poor acting. Karen cannot pull this off. The robots have to be the most unthreatening thing in DW, even Moffat DW. Just poor.
Closing Time: take one of the only good stories from the last season and one of the only good guest characters and make them...poor. Make them a joke. Make them make fun of gay people. Make the Doctor all pouty cause he's going to die...again. Have Cybermen under a story. Make the fat man distracted by saying you love him so he won't see the Cyberman standing behind him WAITING to kill him or convert him. Make the Doc understand baby talk. Matt's delivery is so bad, I cannot believe he wasn't fired! HIs "You've redecorated" that Troughton pulled off so well, is so bad here. Bad. This story sucks.
The Wedding of River Song. What? The worst. The Doc lies. Yeah. Okay. Maybe THIS Doctor.
The Doc, the Widow and the Wardrobe: no threat, just a manic Doc, poor wooden monsters, and another le'ts reboot the past plot line. Horrible.
The Power of Three: after three good or fairly good improvement episodes for season seven,, we get this crap. The Moffat era cannot do Earth based stories well. This proves it. Just crap.
The Angels Take Manhattan: Not bad but the Statue of Liberty was a bit much. Love the baby angels. Oh and Amy and Rory die again. BUT overall not terrible. I felt nothing though. I wanted Amy and Rory to go. I hate them as companions.
The Snowmen: confusing, boring, slow, and unexciting. A friend loves snowmen, xmas, and Victorian times. He tuned in and was totally turned off. Bad.
The Bells of St John: terrible. Clara's turning out to be nothing much. Matt continues to have bad acting all round. Hope he leaves soon! Hope Moffat leaves sooner!
