How would you rate the sixth Doctor, as played by Colin Baker? He gets a seven from me, although he did seem at times a bit unlikable and he never really had the chance to shine, he still has some truly memorable stories in which he shines.

I think the 6th Doctor is underrated. This is none of Colin Baker's fault and I enjoy some of his stories: 'Revelation of the Daleks', 'Mark of the Rani', 'The Trial of a Timelord: The Ultimate Foe' and 'The Trial of a Timelord: Terror of the Vervoids', even if the latter two had Mel in them. I think that most of the blame for the poor quality stories during this time should be forwarded to the writers. However the acting of some of the guest actors was wooden at times, naming no names.

The most underrated doctor. My 5th favourite at 8\10.

I agree that Colin suffered from a couple of rather bad stories and that blame should definitely not be placed on him as it often tends to. One wonders exactly how Colin would have developed the character, is it evident in the Big Finish audios?

One wonders exactly how Colin would have developed the character, is it evident in the Big Finish audios? Why don't you listen to some? To be honest the expense is a bit of a problem for me at the moment and that really comes home to roost in that fact that I can't get all of the new audios in order to summarise them for use in the guide; that's why I started the Synopsis Amnesty in order to get some people who can afford the audios to write and submit synopses of the audios, but by the looks of it the campaign fell flat on its face. It appears plenty of people are willing to read and enjoy the guide but not give anything back to it. We've had some response but not a much as hoped for. So anyway I do try and get the audios from my local library but it's vary rare for many of them to appear there. I suppose I'll have to start looking on auction sites in order to buy them for summarising but even then they can be a bit out of my price range for leisurely expense...

4/10, my least favourite Doctor. The main thing that put me off was when he first regenerated and frightened Peri by almost choking her.

I personally think that 'The Trial of a Timelord' gives us a glimpse as to what the 6th Doctor could've been given half a chance. Yet Colin Baker wasn't given even that...

I feel that to a greater or lesser extent the actor that plays the doctor plays himself albeit an exaggerated version of himself. Having listened to interviews and actually meeting Colin twice i feel that he could have been the greatest doctor of all. The material that Colin had in the TV series did offer some chance for his portrayal to shine but i feel that it is in the audios that Mr Baker has shined. Perhaps the addition of a more mature companion (the incomparable Ms Smythe) has aided in this renaissance for the sixth doctor

I've not got many 6th Doctor videos/dvds, but the ones I do have he does pretty well in them. Thats why he gets an 8.

3/10. Before he became a Doctor he was pretty good, but he seemed to lose all acting skill as the 6th Doctor.
