Now, the 5th Doctor...
Doctor number 5 was one of the few who didn't have a dominating feel to him, or wasn't that eccentric compared to other incarnations. Also he was a bit more fallible and "human" don't you think? Plus, unlike other Doctors the 5th's characterisation remained that little bit more consitant, whilst his successor gave the air that you didn't know if he was coming or going. So, was this charaterisation given to Doctor no. 5 a good thing or bad in your opinion?

I say good thing. But then, he was the Doctor I grew up with so he's going to be seen in a good light.

I agree, the 5th Doctor was the most vulnerable, fallible, his face often with an expression that seemed to mean: "We're so sc***ed" (I don't know if that word is acceptable here so I censored it a bit...). He caused that Great London Fire (or whatever it's called), he even let Adric cause the extinction of the dinosaurs! ;D Seriously, he died to save Peri and that makes him good for me. I don't agree so much about the 6th Doctor: his regeneration left him a bit crazy so I think that it's normal if his behaviour is a little erratic.

I think the characterisation of the fifth Doctor was one of the most interesting in the show's history; I liked the way he didn't always win and had a much more vulnerable personality. I think there was a nice evolution to his character, and how in his last story we saw a visual deterioration in him.

The Fifth Doctor, the rare exception in which his final story is his best (in my opinion).
