Matt Smith was in the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show. The show also guested Little Britain stars and Big Finish guest stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams. On this show it included a clip of Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol, Matt Smith telling of a funny occurence involving fan mail and a couple of audience explaining they would make a good Doctor's companion.
Quite bizarre seeing Matt Smith together with Matt Lucas and David Walliams. This is because Matt Smith's predecessor as the Doctor is another David, Tennant while the other David and Matt, Walliams and Lucas are comedy partners. Almost two lots of Davids and Matts in the same room.

Saw Peter Capaldi in the season 16 opener of The Graham Norton Show. Originally aired on September 26 2014, fellow guests in this show were Denzel Washington, Gemma Arterton and George Ezra. It begins with Norton asking whether the TARDIS is bigger on the inside and then we see the TARDIS doors as he opens it. The TARDIS is certainly bigger on the inside as the TARDIS contains Norton’s audience! Norton asked Washington if he was familiar with Doctor Who and the latter said no. It would seem that Washington was completely oblivious or forgotten that director Paul W.S. Anderson had wanted to cast him as the Doctor for a Doctor Who movie that Anderson wanted to make back in 2003 but one that never got made. So more than a decade later here is Washington in the presence of the current Doctor Peter Capaldi on the Graham Norton Show. In fact Washington was on this show to talk about his later movie The Equalizer based on another TV series. Norton managed to find something in common between Capaldi and Gemma Arterton as they were both in a band. When talking about Doctor Who more substantially, Norton went into Capaldi’s past as a Doctor Who fan. Much to Capaldi’s embarrassment this included Norton reading a rejection letter, written to Capaldi in the 1970s from Sarah Newman who was secretary to the then Doctor Who producer Barry Letts. Norton then reads a letter from Newman that she wrote to the secretary of the Doctor Who Fan Club, which was by no means flattering about Capaldi: “No no no. You’re not by any means worse than Peter C[apaldi]. I had a very sad letter back from him today. I think I better write and apologize. I think he’s the end and I wish the Daleks or someone would exterminate him or something to that effect.”
This then led to the following exchange between Capaldi and Norton about Newman: Peter Capaldi: Where is she now? Graham Norton: She’s here tonight. Capaldi: And I’m Doctor Who.
Capaldi brought up an interesting story when he got the call that he had become the Doctor whilst filming for The Musketeers in the Czech Republic. He says that a Czech boy working on The Musketeers came to him and said that he love him in Doctor Who. Capaldi was perplexed by this as there was no way that this boy could have known that he just have been cast as the Doctor. However the boy was talking about Capaldi’s guest appearance in the David Tennant episode The Fires of Pompeii and the boy remembered him in that episode as he is a big Whovian. Since the boy along with the rest of the world would eventually find out about Capaldi’s casting as the Doctor, Capaldi asked the boy to take a picture of the two of them. However I am not sure if such a picture got taken as Capaldi says the boy wasn’t really interested in taking a picture with him.
This show also had a clip of Kill The Moon which would be broadcast on October 4 and in a preview of the next Graham Norton Show, Norton says that one of the guests in this next show is Hugh Grant. Grant of course is the other Twelfth Doctor. In fact he and Capaldi had worked together in the movie The Lair of the White Worm (1988).

Saw Hugh Grant in The Graham Norton Show 16.2. As Grant had been the Twelfth Doctor in Comic Relief’s The Curse of the Fatal Death, it is therefore curious to point out that the previous Graham Norton Show had the official Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi as a guest. I don’t know if Norton is aware of the Grant Comic Relief Twelfth Doctor fact but it certainly remarkable that he had two shows in a row that each had a Twelfth Doctor as a guest. The Graham Norton Show 16.2 starts off with an amusing re-enactment with Grant from his movie Four Weddings and a Funeral but his love interest here in this re-enactment is Norton himself!
In this show Grant talked about his latest movie The Rewrite and showed a clip of it and his past history with fellow guest Emma Thompson. This is not the first time that I have seen Emma Thompson in the presence of at least one Doctor on The Graham Norton Show as I seen her in the show which had both David Tennant and Matt Smith together in promotion of the 50th anniversary Doctor Who special The Day of the Doctor.

After the end credits of The Graham Norton Show season 16 opener which had Peter Capaldi as a guest, Catherine Tate, Capaldi’s co-star in The Fires of Pompeii, popped up in a clip from a past show that also featured the late Joan Rivers as it paid tribute to her.

This also featured a preview of her TV movie We’ll Take Manhattan which is prophetic to the fact that her Doctor Who swansong is called The Angels Take Manhattan.

Saw Matt Smith on The Graham Norton Show which came on November 4 2016 as he talked about playing Prince Philip in The Crown. Doctor Who gets mentioned here with a picture of Smith as the Eleventh Doctor being shown. Also on this program I got to hear Doctor Who coming out of fellow guest Ben Affleck's mouth as he says that Doctor Who is a gigantic thing in America. Incidentally both Smith and Affleck had played Batman. Affleck had played him on the big screen and Smith played him for comedy on stage.

David Tennant was on The Graham Norton Show on May 18 2018 in which he revealed how he found out who the new Doctor was going to be. Tennant was told by current showrunner and his former boss at Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall to expect a call from the new Doctor. The call came and it was from his former Broadchurch co-star Jodie Whittaker! As well as the new Doctor, Tennant also talked about his new movie You, Me and Him & Bad Samaritan. With You, Me and Him, Tennant explained why it was not easy for him to be cast in this movie despite the fact that his wife Georgia was producer of this movie. Georgia is also in front of the camera in this movie as shown in a clip of her and her husband. Norton also showed a clip of Tennant’s first acting job that of an anti-smoking ad much to Tennant’s embarrassment. Here is the ad in full: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzHnH9hVSiUIn his review of this Graham Norton Show, Colin Vickery of the Sydney Sunday Telegraph tv guide made no mention of Tennant at all. Vickery mentioned Miriam Margolyes despite the fact that she wasn’t in this Graham Norton Show. Perhaps Vickery got Margolyes mixed up with Tennant!

Saw Jodie Whittaker on The Graham Norton Show which came on December 6 2019.
Also included here were Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, my wife Karen Gillan's co-stars in the new Jumanji: The Next Level.
Hart says here comes the TARDIS as Jodie produces that sound. My wife Karen was seen in this Show from the Jumanji: The Next Level poster and then a clip of this movie.
When it came to Jodie she recounts on filming the upcoming season of her encounter with a spider that could have killed her!
A clip of the season of the season opener Spyfall was shown and it was surprising when it was revealed that Mandip Gill was in the audience!
Also surprising was when Johnson suggested that he and Hart of being in Doctor Who.
Spyfall has an evidently James Bond theme with the title being a play on the Bond film Skyfall and Norton coincidentally noted that Johnson was dressed up like Bond as he was wearing a pink suit and a bow tie.

Saw Jodie on The Graham Norton Show from October 15 2021. This came before Doctor Who: Flux started on October 31 and as such the trailer for that got shown here. Other guests include Sir Lenny Henry, Jodie's co-star in Spyfall and a picture of their scene in Spyfall Part One got shown here. Also here is Jodie's favourite band Coldplay and she got invited to be part of their band for their performance here. To add to all this, Jodie looked very nice in the purple coat she wore here.
