In this CD release of Doctor Who At the BBC presented by Lis Sladen, it looks at radio extracts of the Ninth and almost all of the Tenth Doctor era between 2005 and 2009 ending its scope just prior to the Tenth Doctor swansong The End of Time. In production terms it is almost an overview of the Russell T Davies era as A Legend Reborn is about what coverage to Doctor Who has been like in the few years since its return to television in 2005.
Among the extracts included here is how Chris Eccleston and David Tennant presented themselves in their respective interviews, both very different but still very interesting to listen to. Quite remarkable how BBC Radio presenter Jo Whiley starts off in this release as being a novice of Doctor Who before later extracts shows that she has become a big fan of the series.
Other extracts include comments about Robert Carlyle being in the running to be the Eleventh Doctor only for him to be ruled out when he accepted a role in Stargate Universe.
Most enjoyable of the extracts is Catherine Tate's interview with David Tennant on Chain Reaction. It was quite amusing when Catherine mentioned possible user names on online forums including Dalek Big Boy!
Noticeably absent from this release are radio interviews of Billie Piper, surely she must have done some during her tenure as Rose Tyler.
Overall, absence of Billie Piper aside, this has been enjoyable release in the At the BBC range.
