An easy explanation would be the Eight Doctor meeting Romana out of time in the audio range. Another explanation could be time resetting itself at some point after The Gallifrey Chronicles. Those would work, but they're pretty much shoehorning in explanations, particularly the last one. But I am afraid we won't see a definite answer for a few years until all ranges are definitely closed. I prefer myself a continuous timeline rather than parallel ones, but I have to do what I think is best for the guide right now. Dom Well, is there anything that currently points to them *not* being the way you'd had them previously? (The audios coming between The Eight Doctors and vampire Science?) Now here's a thought. Perhaps there could be a sub-page devoted to the various possible ordering schemes.

As I already said, Zagreus hints strongly parallel timelines. And the audios are not referenced in any of the novels. Anyway, nothing is definite yet. I want to hear ideas before taking a (temporary) final decision on the matter. Dom

Wow - you've added the BF audios and the DWM strips! Fantastic.
But why the TV Action strips? This is all so great, you've got everything! But, but, oh wow, oh dear... the TV Action strips!

And now Dom is being very creative!
Giving the option of how to place the 8th Doctor stories for yourself is moving into the realm of being technical... I'm Impressed!

That was the easy part!!!
What gave me a hard time was to find a way to add a simple cookie to the page so it remembers your preference while you navigate through the guide.
And now it looks like I have done it. Let me know if you have any problem using it.

Sam is listed among the past (or current?) companions in Minuet in Hell, meaning the audio stories do not take place before The Eigth Doctors. I don't know how much weight this ought to be given, but per Gary Russell at OG, the "Sam" reference in Minuet has been retconned into a reference to Samson Griffin (from Terror Firma).

A question (a bit off-topic and I can move it to a different thread if you like.): I brought up on a different thread the idea of listing the page both in continuity order and production/release order. Might it be possible to do a similar type of cookie to do the same thing for that? I know that searching out the actual order things were released in woulkd be a lot of work, but I'd certainly be willing to do the research.

I still don't see the need to present thing in chronological order, and in any case I would not put such a list on the main page. That would probably a javascript nightmare!!!
At best, an alternate page load and having to reprogram all links going to the main page from the multiple stories.
However, if you want to take on yourself the task to produce such a list and keep it to date, I could find a room for it on the site.
But I don't have the time to do it myself.

I perfer the continuous version of the Eighth Doctors history rather than the parrelell universe one. The radio times comic strips definetly tie in with the EDB's since the companions appear in Placebo Effect. The reson I think the Books, audios and comics take place in the same timeframe is becuase refrences to the TV movie are made in set of adventures (i think).

I've been studying the Eighth Doctor's Timeline very closely, along with the Timelines for the other nine Doctors and found contradictions everywhere. However I thought not to worry as contradicting stories are the whole beauty of Doctor Who. One notable example being 'The Daleks' and 'The Dalek Invasion of Earth', how did they survive e.t.c, e.t.c I just take the series as it comes to be honest and enjoy it. I never let contradictions get me down ever. It's fiction!
