Hard Quiz (Australia) on Wednesday April 28 2021 had for host Tom Gleeson's round the subject of Toms, as in people who share the same first name as him. As soon as I saw that subject name I suspected that Tom Baker would fit in there somewhere due to Gleeson stating in a TV WEEK interview that Baker was always his favourite Doctor. It turns out I was right on this as Baker with a picture of him as the Doctor was included as an option for a multiple options, notwithstanding that all questions in this round are multiple choice. However I knew right away that Tom Baker wasn't the right answer for the question concerned as it was about Australian politics.

Saw Peter Capaldi as The Thinker in The Suicide Squad (2021). The Sydney Sunday Telegraph review on The Suicide Squad on August 8 2021 by Vicky Roach gave it four stars and verdict of "The superhero movie we've been waiting for." On Capaldi, Roach says: "By casting Peter Capaldi in the role of highly intelligent supervillain The Thinker, [director James] Gunn explicitly acknowledges the influence of seminal sci-fi series Dr Who, particularly when it comes to the low-tech look of his aliens."

Doom Patrol 3.5 Dada Patrol had Jane (Diane Guerrero) calling Laura De Mille/Madam Rouge, Doctor Who due to her arriving in a time machine. The Doctor Who reference is really due to the fact that Laura/Madam Rouge is played Michelle Gomez aka Missy. As Missy. Gomez called herself Doctor Who in World Enough and Time and she shares the same birthday with the Doctor, November 23 as she was born in 1966 exactly three years after him. www.tvinsider.com/1017250/doom-patrol-michelle-gomez-doctor-who-reference-laura-rita/

TV WEEK (Australia) of November 6-12 2021 has Doctor Who: Flux on its "What I'm Watching" feature. Watching Flux is TV WEEK Associate Editor Tamara Cullen. Cullen says: "Despite the otherworldly adventures and time-travel that mere mortals will never experience, there's still something relatable about Doctor Who. For me, it starts with the use of an everyday object, aka the phone booth, as a teleportation device and ends with the complexity of human emotion even the brilliant Doctor can't escape. In the new season, the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodi [sic] Whittaker) seeks answers about her past in the wake of their most recent battle while facing new monsters across several universes. There are also old enemies whose unfinished business includes world domination. Yikes! It might be time for the Doctor to jump in the phone booth and call for help!" Along with this piece there are two pictures, one is that of a Cyberman with the caption "Oh no! What do the Cybermen want this time?" and the other is with the main cast of Mandip Gill, Jodie Whittaker and John Bishop as their characters.

Hard Quiz (Australia) on November 10 2021 includes contestant Naomi for her subject of Wallace and Gromit. The Wallace and Gromit films were co-written by Bob Baker and in a sad coincidence Baker had recently passed on November 3. In introducing Naomi, host Tom Gleeson revealed that she grew up in England and that like all kids who grew up there she played Doctor Who for fun and mention of the sonic screwdriver. When it came time for the Wallace and Gromit questions, Gleeson asked Naomi if she had her sonic screwdriver ready. Having mentioned the sonic screwdriver earlier, this was Gleeson's way of asking Naomi if she was ready for the questions on Wallace and Gromit.
