Pilot: Not a bad start although I do admit it had more to do with my personal bias towards Karen Gillan than anything else. Karen plays Eliza a bit dim-witted but on so many levels very adorable young woman who after an embarrassment got Henry Higgs (John Cho) to help her to get a better image of herself to others. Funny how Eliza disrupted that wedding and emotional how she and Henry made up after the wedding fiasco.

Un-Tag My Heart: Episode 2. After being encouraged by Henry to pursue a hobby Eliza joins a book club and she looked adorable in the glasses she wore. Sadly I wasn’t surprised that she got thrown out of book club as she did not read the book concerned beforehand. Henry has his first experience with facebook which did not go quite as well especially the way he encountered his ex there. Heart-warming the way that Henry showed his concern for Eliza after she had that accident.

With A Little Yelp From My Friends: Episode 3. Henry sets Eliza the task of befriending Joan who dislikes Eliza as a result of Eliza always eating her lunch despite having Joan’s name on it. Even though it ultimately had an unsuccessful end result I do admire Eliza’s attempt at connecting with Joan. Not bad the other storyline of Henry getting into a pickle with Larry after the latter’s wife leaves him. Quite a lovely moment at the end of the episode of Eliza and Henry eating standing by a bin.

Nugget of Wisdom: Episode 4. Henry sets Eliza the task of helping others on the weekend. This led to Eliza helping Charmonique get ready for her high school reunion but ended up babysitting her son Kevin when the babysitter called in sick. So funny that Eliza did not get the hint straightaway of her doing the babysitting. The nugget of the episode title is eventually revealed to be that of the solution of Eliza dealing with a particular situation with Kevin. Quite like what Karen as Eliza was wearing when she was babysitting.
Today November 28 is Karen’s birthday and I enjoyed watching this episode to mark this occasion of seeing this beautiful young woman.

Even Hell Has Two Bars: Episode 5. Sam Saperstein invites Eliza and Henry to spend the weekend at his Santa Barbara estate. For Henry it is an opportunity to get a promotion while Eliza loosens up with the other guests. Not bad fun with the most fun being when Henry and then later on Sam jumping into the forbidden lake.

Never Block Cookies: Episode 6. Admirable attempt by Eliza and Charmonique to help Henry with his love life and a bit amusing seeing doppelgangers of Eliza and Charmonique. Not bad the other plotline of Sam and Terrance getting along with each other.

Here’s This Guy: Episode 7. Out of jealously due to her friendship with Henry, Eliza does something petty to his girlfriend Julia. In the end however she made things right by apologising to Julia even though she says she and Julia would never be friends but she showed she is the bigger person and quite dignified the way she handled it, The episode title is in reference to Eliza introducing a person and remarkable how simple that task turned out to be for her.

Traumatic Party Stress Disorder : Episode 8. Eliza relaxes Henry on his birthday by getting him tickets to a concert and organising a surprise party. This episode was released on November 25 2014 on Video On Demand and incidentally it was three days before Karen Gillan’s own birthday. Therefore it would have been good symmetry if this episode was about Eliza’s birthday instead of Henry’s. Karen as Eliza mentioned time travel movie Edge of Tomorrow. Of course Karen has had her own experience in time travel in Doctor Who. Funny the number of times that Eliza in her narration uses the word boring when talking about organising the party. Henry sure had a good time at that concert which culminated him being filmed of a video posted on Youtube. Quite funny his unsuccessful attempt on getting this video taken down.

Follow Through: Episode 9. Although I feel a little happy about it, I do feel a little sympathy with Freddy being dumped by Eliza in front of his parents. Very pleasing end to the episode when Eliza revealed her naked body to Henry only for him to run away even him making it blatantly obvious that he is deliberately running away from her. This brought to mind Fraternity Vacation when two guys ran away from two beautiful naked women in Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont. If that had been me in that scene I definitely would not have run away from Eliza.

Imperfect Harmony: Episode 10. Released on US Video on Demand on December 9 2014 and because of Karen, fortuitously this date was my birthday. As this was released on my birthday it was very appropriate that it briefly had Karen as Eliza in her birthday suit via a clip from the end of the previous episode Follow Through. Very appropriate indeed. After Henry denied his own feelings towards Eliza, Eliza did a very lovely karaoke singing and Karen sure sung very very beautifully as can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzqWDr1wzHsI however did not like what she ultimately did after the karaoke. The episode ends with good singing from Henry.

Coincidentally the song that Karen sang in that Selfie episode was played during the fireworks for Sydney’s New Year’s 2015 celebrations.
