5/5 such an outstanding story. A fantastic idea that is portrayed magnificently on screen. Tom Baker really shines in a script so perfectly weaved by the unforgettable Douglas Adams.

Like eryx it's a long time since I've seen this but I remember it being quite good. Still an overrated story though.

Still an overrated story though. Sigh, there always has to be one to bring the party down!

A really nice story. I said 4. Out of this season I think Destiny and City are pretty good. I'm looking for a way to say this and failing... I think it's the ultimate story for people who are maybe a little too fannish. It's a little too "perfect", for fan purposes, anyway. It has all the "right" elements.
So a very good story is a bit over-rated. That's fine with me.

You know, this story has to be good to find a place in the Top Ten Tom Baker stories in that famous Doctor Who Magazine survey of...1996 was it? Ranked 7 overall it did, or was it 6?

5/5. It's almost the perfect Doctor Who story.
Lalla & Big Tom's "rapport" brings that special (and indefinable) quality to a leading couple not felt since Steed & Mrs. Peel. The humour is obvious (and funny!) without being rampant slapstick, the model work is as good as it gets on the budget, the supporting cast are exceptional - especially Glover who plays it straight, a rare quality for Season 17, and this was the story where I fell in love with Romana II...

This story I must admit, is very good if one is in need of a good chuckle I must say.

You know it is very good, considering who was the producer at the time. ;D

I agree with most of you. ALMOST the perfect Doctor Who story. As we all know, Genesis was better.

City of Death was better than Genesis-easily. Genesis was still 5/5.
